This will be our 1st time at Rose & Crown so any recommendations? Whats sticky toffee ??

Both DH and I both got the surf & turf in Nov...it was delish! The sticky toffee is very yummy dessert. DD got the shepherds pie and really liked it (and she's only 7).

I usually get the fish and chips. I also like the potato leak soup.

We have not been disappointed with the fish and chips yet. The fish was a large portion and the fries were the large wide beafeater variety (I think that's what they are called).

I would not recommend the Sunday Roast. The beef was dry and the vegetables were cooked beyond recognition. In all of our trips to Disney we've been pretty pleased with the food, but this was the worst meal we've had on the property.

I have three: for appetizer - potato and leek soup. For entree: Sunday Dinner (the roast) - every time I get it, it's amazing. Dessert: sticky toffee pudding. I could eat that every day!

DH and I had dinner at the R&C on 12/5/10, and it was one of the best meals of our trip! I had the Surf & Turf, which was delicious, but DH really came out on top with his Roast Chicken on a Sweet Potato Pillow. That was really yummy! You can see all the pics in my December dining review linked from my signature. Enjoy your meal!

eating at the rose and crown...one of my favorite places

Not a goumet dinner, remember this is food from England so of couse the roast is well done and the veggies mushy! Go native and try fish & chips or bangers & mash. Be sure to spend some time in the bar if the Hat Lady is playing piano. It's a good time there.

Don't forget the beer sampler platter!

I had the surf and turf and it was great. I don't remember which deserts we had, but I do remember that they were good.

The Sunday roast was excellent...also the scotch egg for app was also very good as was the sticky toffee for dessert.

Bangers and Mash for me and Fish and Chips for DS. Also, beer if you indulge.

I'm a big fan of bangers & mash, but I sub "chips" for the mash. Want some right now!

I also agree that the bangers and mash is really good! I love mashed potatoes and these did not disappoint. We just ate here on 12/3 for the first time and we both loved it. DH had the surf and turf and loved it also. The chocolate whiskey cake was to die for! I was to full to eat it at dinner but had it the next day, yummy! I think one of our appetizers we had was scotch eggs which were also very good.

For an app try the scotch egg (I think that is the name) our waitress had us try it and it was very good! I don't remember what we had for our entree, but I can't stop thinking of that app!!! Yum!

 DH & DS love the bangers & mash, DD & I-DW love the Fish & Chips, we have also had the Chicken, Sweet Potato, and Shepards Pie, dessert: Sticky Toffee Pudding, DD had Ice Cream Sundae All was enjoyed and each time we went the service was great! :dance3:

I've only had sticky toffee pudding a couple of times, a long while ago. I remember it being like a cake with toffee sauce over it. You can probably google an image of it. It's good stuff!

Fish & chips or bangers & mash

But be wary! They charge extra for a half cup of peas!
