Going to Orlando for 2 weeks solo

For the first two weeks of May, I'm going to be staying offsite in Kissimmee, while I still have a flexible job. However, I'm going Solo.

And I know from the few solo trips I have had recently, that even though I like having my own space a lot, after a few days of not having anyone to talk to, I start to feel lonely.

Perhaps I can remedy this with phone calls or something, but I hope to make some friends at my stay.

I'm going to all of the parks, probably MK several days, as well as Seaworld.

Anyone else going one of those weeks?

There's nothing lonely about traveling solo - now I've done it once, I think I prefer

I'm tentatively planning to be there May1st-8th although I'm still waiting to be sure if I'll be solo or if my siblings will be joining me (which may change my dates) Can't wait for F&G!

Is F&G good? Basically a bunch of awesome plants, or are there shows?

It seems a lot of garden-minded people like it mostly because of the shows/demonstrations, and the musical shows, but neither of those really interest me. However, I managed to catch the pre-opening night by accident in early March, and all the flowers and topiaries were gorgeous. They also have a garden with "strange" plants inspired by the movie Oz, which I loved, and a butterfly garden that I'm really looking forward to.

I thought it would be a fun extra but what I was really looking forward to was Food&Wine in October, but this year for the first time, they're having little food and wine booths as part of F&G. So now I must admit I'm mostly looking forward to all the food and drinks booths instead

just booked a solo trip the 3rd to 7th. First Non-January trip down there.

Prelim Plans:
Fri Epcot (dinner at La Hacienda)
Sat DHS and AK (dinner at Boma)
Sun MK
Mon Ak and ?? (breakfast at Tusker)
Tues Fly out at 6pm

Staying at POP.

Let me know if ya wanna hit the parks at all for anything. Schedule is flexible. Would love to meet new Disney peeps.

I applaud all of you who go alone!! I am going this October for the MNSSHP & F&WF, and dragging my daughter along with me. I am still not sure I could go on my own, but I also don't think I can keep dragging her with me either! lol And I still want to plan more trips!!! How do you get the courage to go alone the first time??

It seems scary, but seriously before you know it, days will have passed and you'll be wondering how you'll ever be ok with going with other people again. You get on the plane then the ME and everyone's super friendly, ditch your stuff at the hotel and hit the parks - that's when you get the freedom of doing what YOU want, and skipping what you don't want, and then its just a great trip from there onwards!

I have gone on solo trips to NYC, Chicago and DC before, so I doubt Disney World will bother me much.

I'm sitting here killing time until I get to leave on my umpteenth solo trip to various places -- this one for three weeks in Florida mostly at WDW, last week in April and first two weeks in May. Now my former MIL really freaked out when I took myself off to the Yucatan and rented a car and drove around by myself for two weeks a couple of decades ago, but that was a wonderful trip. I had to travel a lot for work over the years, so guess that got me used to going it alone, but then, I enlisted in the Marine Corps when I was 19 and served my two years -- after that I figured I could handle about anything. Now I'm a 68 years young ole gal and can't always rustle up someone to go with me, so if I want to go somewhere, I go (when I have the $$$).

Lindaland -- try it -- you'll love it (mostly -- there are a few tricks to learn, and there's always a glitch or two with any kind of travel, but those happen when you travel with other people, too).

May 9 -- morning EMH rope drop at MK -- I'm the LOL with blue/teal streaks in her hair. (LOL used to mean little old lady)

It's looking like I'll be down May 7-11th!! I'll definitely be in the parks on the evening of the 7th and all day the 8th! The other two days I've got auditions, but those might not take all day!!

Will also be solo at Disney May 8 through 18.
I'v been solo the several times before and I like it a lot. It also like to go there with some friends, but if its not always possible to plan the same dates off at work. There is so much to do and see, so I don't have the time to feel lonely. I keep in touch with some friends via facebook or sms. Its great that they are offering free WIFI now, because the roaming costs for data via 3g are expensive.

Wed 8th: arrive, DHS for Fantasmic
Thurs 9: AK, then audition in afternoon,then MK that eve
Fri 10: MK all morning, followed by audition 2
11: depart
