Going To Okw In Jan!! Any Pointers

HI ALL! WE UPGRADED FROM THE CBR TO THE OKW (DH IS A GOLFER) AND WITH THE CBR POOL BEING REFURBISHED WE THOUGHT OKW WOULD BE A NICER PLACE THIS TIME (THE LITTLE ONE WILL SWIM AS LONG AS THE WATER IS WARM!!)
PLUS WE GOT AN AMAZING DEAL WITH OUR CODE! I CAN'T SEEM TO FIND ANY RECENT POSTS ABOUT OKW..BEST I CAN FIND ARE 2006 POSTS.
HOW IS TRANSPORTATION TO PARKS? HOW IS DINING THERE? WHAT ARE BEST BUILDINGS FOR BUS STOP/MAIN POOL/HH..ETC..ANY INPUT WOULD BE GREAT!!!

well you have 4 pools - one main pool with slide and 3 quiet ones.

views are golf, water and woods.

would ask for a water view - they are the prettiest (okay my opinon) although if he is a big golfer might prefer a golf view. You can see other people do really stupid things on the golf course.


the golf course that OKW surrounds is Lake buena vista - starts over at SSR.

do you have a studio or 1-bedroom?

studio has 2 queen beds, nice bathroom, balcony - plus a kitchenett - microwave, under the counter refrigerator, toast, coffee maker, wet bar(big sink), 2 mugs, 4 glasses, plastic utenils, at least 4 paper plates and bowls (there can be more)

so you can eat in the studio - saving money.

the main pool building are 11-14, 62-64, 23-26 - would recommend 23-26 - they are across from the main pool. but the only road little ones needs to go across has a cross walk. cars, buses and etc - do stop here. there is a bus stop in front. this is the first stop for the buses coming into the park. if you miss it you can walk to the HH (last stop before leaving).

OKW is part of the Disney Vacation club, so if you scroll down the list of topics here at the DIS, there are 4 forums devoted to DVC. That is where you can find the most info, and ask questions. I'm not compter oriented or I would post a link or something I stink at computer skills.

I'd like to add MY thanks for the great info. DD18 and I are staying here in January (studio with great AP rate) and are unfamiliar with this resort. We are looking forward to trying a "new" place and I've always read alot of good things about this resort. Now........we just have to be patient and wait

The waiting is the WORST!!! We are giving this to our DD8 for Christmas!! Cant wait!

can you see Epcot from OKW at all?? I know its in the general area

no.

but sometimes at night you can see the top of the fireworks from both Epcot and MK - if you are up high and your building is in the right direction.

11-14 can sometimes see the tops of wishes.

23 can see the top of epcot - along with a bunch more building.
