Does anyone else have others around them say you go to the World too often. We have decided on going on a cruise every other year and WDW every other year, alternating the two so we get to see Mickey every year. Well we just got back from a cruise in October and planned on going possibly in December. Well DH and I decided to surprise DS for his birthday in March. Everybody keeps saying "you just got back", " Dont you get tired of going?" Personally, I cant get enough of Mickey. I wish I could go more. Anybody else hear this rubish.

If I could manage it from both a time and expense perspective, my schedule would consist of

1) going to Disneyworld
2) planning my next trip to Disneyworld
3) repeat indefinitely

I may make allowances for the occasional cruise or trip to Disneyland when the kids are old enough for that sort of travel.

I don't care what other people think.

Disney trips work for our family and we will continue to go for as long as we can. Our kids are now 10 & 14 and have been going since they were under 2 years old. They have both been over 20 times and are still not sick of it. We bought DVC in 2007 and had to ask the kids if they thought it was a good idea or if they were going to get sick of Disney since we go so often. They looked at us as if we had 10 heads and said of course not! :)

Don't listen to other people...

I live about an hour away and my family and most of our friends go at least once a year. We try to limit ourselves to our late November/early December (this is a three or four day trip) and one or two other days to single parks (w/o overnight stays). However, at least once a quarter, we end up at DD just for dinner and to get our fudge/caramel apple fix. This is enough for us as we want to keep the magic fresh.

If you still have fun, I wouldn't worry about other's opinions.

We go twice a year and every now and then are able to squeeze in a little long weekend trip. Our family and friends don't even bother asking us why anymore. It is the best value for our vacation time/dollars for our family and what we enjoy.

We have only been able to go once and are currently saving to be able to return- hopefully next year. If I could every year I would. My children talk about Disney all the time. I have even been called a name by someone just beacuase my family was able to afford to go. I find that those who give you a hard time either just don't have or get the Disney Magic or are jealous. Just ignore the rude comments. How can going to a place that makes your family happy and builds great memories be a bad thing?

I hear it frequently, but I probably do go too often haha. When we lived in Orlando, we were there 2-3 times per week! We currently go every other month or so? But we go down for a day and then come back home so we don't have to pay for hotel. LOL

We only go every other year, but would go more if we could. Certain people make comments like "you just got back" or "don't you get tired of going every year." I just tell them we don't go every year, but we would if we could. It does bug me when they say that, but it isn't stopping me from doing what my family enjoys. I do admit I try not to bring the subject up around certain people.

We live 90 minutes from Orlando. This is the first year we are not going to be getting yearly passes. We have decided we "needed a break" from Disney. We are renting a nice house on the beach in July instead of doing Disney. We went this year and had a good time but we are growing tired of it.

That being said, we have gone multiple times every year and it took us a long time (and a lot of money) to get to this point. I wouldn't worry about what people say. What is enjoyable for your family is what is most important.

We go every year and yes we get the same response. So we decided to do a Myrtle Beach trip instead. It was ok since we met a whole bunch of family there. However the whole time we would say " Man I wish we were at Disney". We compared everything to Disney, the price the food the service and just decided that we prefer Disney. Yes there may be a year that we don't. Because we know one year we are driving out to Olympia Washington to visit family. But we are even thinking of trying to make a side trip to Disneyland.
We just enjoy it there.

I hate it when the same people say "you are going to Disney AGAIN" are the same ones who go down the Shore every weekend, or go to the same Shore town the same week every year, or go camping the same place etc. I really dont see the difference, so each family should do what they enjoy!:thumbsup2

We hear that all the time. I remind people who vacation at the beach (like our friend said earlier) that they often go every year as well as people who visit amusement parks like Cedar Point. I used to think it was crazy myself, while I loved Disney I wanted to go other places too. Then we took our kids and it doesn't make sense to us to go anywhere else. For the money we'd have to spend to go anywhere we could go to Disney and have a TON of fun. Until you've really experienced the joy of a Disney vacation you don't really know. It wasn't planned when we first started taking our kids but our daughter will visit for the 5th time just days before her 3rd birthday. My kids love it and so do my husband and I! Just don't listen to those people they're jealous and haven't shared our wonderful experiences. Just plan your trip, smile and have fun.

We hear this all the time. We have just come to realize those people who say this to you are just JEALOUS of you. It is cheaper for myself, DH and DD to go to Disney instead of the beach. We love it at Disney and miss it when we are not there. There is something different everytime we go. We have also taken my mom and dad, our best friends, aunts, uncles, and cousins. It is just 3 more hours for us than going to the beach, so why not go?

I get this a lot from my MIL, who just doesn't "get" it. She went once, in the 70's, and can't imagine the growth and change that's happened since then.

When I was growing up, my family went to WDW every year. Some of my favorite memories are of the times we spent there, and to me WDW will always be a magical family place. I want to share those memories with my own children.

I don't think there's anything different than the week we spend in Minnesota every year with MIL and her family. :confused3

We hear it all the time ! I remember one year we decided it would be "better" to try something "new". so we went to cedar point for a few days. To make a long story short, we paid more for food and lodging, at least as much if not more for admissions, had the joy of being trapped in a restaurant on the point because there were two water spots/possible tornados in the area. The whole time we couldn't help but think how much we wished we were at disney!
