So definitely now are going to legoland! Going April 3rd and maybe part of the day on the 4th. But we're only going to "plan" the one day for sure. Getting discourt tix through my sisters work (they're two day tix for way cheaper than even one day).
We are tentively booking Carlsbad by the Sea (old holiday inn I think). Looks nice! Anyone been??

Thoughts on things to do for about half a day in Carlsbad? We're only their a day and a bit, and the first day is solely legoland, so we were thinking we could explore a bit the next day (4th) before driving back to LV.
I know about the outlet mall, meh. Thinking I'd rather do something different. Ideas??

Getting super excited for this little trip!

I don't have any activity suggestions as we are making our first (maybe only) trip to Legoland in May. We are also staying at the Carlsbad by the Sea. I would be very interested in your thoughts on the accomodations and what activities you chose to do. Please let us know when you get back.

Years ago we visited the Museum of Making Music in Carlsbad for about an hour and a half. The kids were really young then, but my older boy enjoyed it since he is very interested in music and musical instruments. There are also the Carlsbad Flower Fields. Never been, the allergies would probably be the end of us, but I hear that many people like this type of thing. The outlet mall was meh, so I agree not to waste time on it.

Just a quick update about our LEGOLAND TRIP :cool1:

It was great! Perfect for our 5 year old! He loved every single minute!! Many younger rides, so it worked great :goodvibes

We stayed at Carlsbad by the Sea as planned, and it was great! We called around 2pm to say that we would not check in until after the park closed (after 6pm) and they said that was fine. So when we finally checked in, they had UPGRADED our room to the giant family suite as they need the other room... no charge!! So awesome! Was perfect for the amount of us we had (our fam and my sister and her BF). Didn't swim at all as it was a bit breezy out, seemed a bit too chilly to swim. Hot brekkie in the morning was good - basic but good! We took with us a few bananas/apples and a yogurt for the day :thumbsup2

We thought we'd only do the one full day as planned, but since we had two day passes we decided to go the next day we for we drove back to Las Vegas. Ended up being there nearly the whole day!! :cheer2:

Great trip - definitely geared to the younger crowd! But if you have a LEGO fan, go for it!! Worth the trip :goodvibes It was an easy and relaxing day(s) :thumbsup2
