Oh...have a wonderful time!!!! I think I posted on your original post about Gettysburg.
- buy the audio tour CD (I can get you the info from the one we bought if you need it)
-get subs and have lunch at the VA memorial
-visit the book store at the visitor's center
-get out of the car and walk away from the crowds, think about how much history you are surrounded by
-try Mark Nesbit's Ghost Tour at night!!
-visit Devil's Den
-try to find a re-enactment if any are going on (we found one about the artillary that was so interesting!)
-talk to a park ranger-they are always full of interesting info
-visit the cemetary
-walk through town, find the Farnsworth House and look at the outside wall of the building
-in town at the square there is a pub (The Corner Pub???) They used to have the best Bloody Marys!!
-keep your eye open for spirits.....I believe they are really there
-enjoy the quiet and respect most people give to the area
-go off the beaten path
-at the VA memorial stand below the statue of Lee, lok in the distance and you can see the statue of Meade (I think that is who it is)...they are facing each other, ready for battle
-take note of the memorials-they are all unique
Finally,
-take note of the horses on the memorials-all 4 feet on the ground the rider survived; one foot raised the rider was injured; two feet up the rider died in battle
Have a wonderful time. It sounds like it will be a beautiful week!
