Well don't know if this belongs here but,my wife and I are huge Disney fans.
We had a Disney themed wedding, honeymooned in DL and have been a few times and recently started taking our girls as my signature shows;) .This trip is different. My wife was recently diagnosed with Diffuse Scleroderma (google it, it really sucks but we are optimistic cause it was caught early) and we are going to UCLA to see one of the nations foremost doctor's for treatment options. That is the bitter or say really sour part.

Sweet part- She is excitied though because a friend of hers gave us 3 day passes to enjoy some time toghether before we get further down the medical and symptoms road. I do have a question for some though and it might sound weird but.we are staying with relatives that live a few miles away and not across the street like we normally do. Has any one even napped in their car in the parking garage? If we want to take a break we were going to try but wonder if they will not let you? Anyone?

Oh and any prayers are appreciated, God will know who you are talking about:thumbsup2

I'll toss some prayers your way. This part made me feel hopeful for you guys "while disabling, tends not to be fatal." esp since you say you caught it soon.

I dunno about napping but ENJOY your time at Disney together!

Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers!

Enjoy your time at DL! I'm not sure about napping in the car but I don't see why you couldn't do it.

I'll be thinking about u all and hoping for the best!!!!! I think aslong as u have a window cracked they might not mind but i'm not sure!!!! have a great trip we'll be thinkinh about u and ur family!!

I'm saying lots of prayers for your family... :goodvibes

We personally haven't rested in the car but I have seen people do it in the parking structure and if I needed to, I would totally go for it!!! :thumbsup2

Bring some pillows to make it extra comfy too. It sounds like a good idea and I don't see why they wouldn't let you.

I hope you and your family have a wonderful trip!! :wizard:

Have a wonderful time together, and my prayers are with you.

One idea for resting is to go to the Grand Californian Hotel and cuddle up in a big chair in the lobby by the fireplace. It would be comfier than your car, and closer to the magic! :thumbsup2

My thoughts and prayers are with your wife, you, your two princesses and the UCLA doctors!

Have a wonderful trip!

I agree. When I had food poisoning and couldn't take the queasiness anymore, we went to the lobby at GCH. It was VERY relaxing. In fact, I fell asleep for about 40 minutes and it didn't bother them. I was not laying on the couches though. I was leaned to the side while sitting in a chair.

I know what it is to go through hardship with health problems of a loved one and it can be trying at times. You both are blessed to have each other and I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Positivity is always a good thing to have with you. I hope that everything works out for the both of you.

Oh goodness, that is awful. My prayers are definitely with you and your family. God will help those dr's find a way to help your wife. Hopefully she doesn't have issues with her heart, lungs or kidneys. Your wife is lucky to have such a strong man by her side to give her aide in her time of need.

I am unaware of the rules as to one taking a nap in the car but I would guess that it is okay until you get caught? I know that parking garage is fairly large and if you cracked the window and reclined the seats they may never even see you. If someone were to say something I would just explain your situation a little bit and see if they let you remain there. But the GCH lobby is a great suggestion as well! It is very cozy there and the giant fireplace is a great place to nap I would think!

I hope you two are able to make the most of this trip. Again...best wishes.

Resting? You can go to the first aid station on main street and rest there. They have chairs, private rooms, and gurneys with curtains around them. They can assist you if you need help.

A ECV scooter may help save her energy and relieve any pain. I know it is hard to even want to use one. But it could make her trip much better and less tiring. You may have to insist. But believe me a scooter helps so much!!

Go to DL have Fun, Fun, Fun!! Take lots of pictures. And make lots of memories for the times ahead! And much healing Pixie Dust for you both :wizard:

I didn't nkow people could rest at first aid. But if that's true...I'd say do that. I can't imagine sleeping in your car in the garage with all the fumes would be a good ides.

We've had nap time in the car when my son was smaller and needed a break and to get away from the action.

There may be more comfortable spots for a nap, like the GC hotel as mentioned previously.

Specifically, in answer to your question, no one cares if you sleep in your car for awhile. They may have an issue if you try to spend the night.:)

I just wanted to say good luck and I hope that everything goes well with the dr.'s and they can help her. :grouphug:

((big hugs)))
The previous posters have great suggestions on where to nap. Wishing you a pleasant trip. Keeping you and yours in my prayers. :flower3:

Have fun!!! My thoughts will be with you! I would also suggest going to First Aid, everytime we've had to go in there they have always offered us a quiet room to rest in. It's great, nice a cool and quiet. :)

I am praying for you and your family. :goodvibes You will have a wonderful trip!! I would not nap in the car, I would take some advice from the PP's GCH sounds great, as well as the first aid station is nice. Take it easy when in the park, lots of breaks and enjoy Dl with your wife.
