I am new to the forum, but have been lurking for a little while. My husband and I have scheduled our first visit to Disneyland the first weekend in November. We will only be in the park for one full day, November 5th. I was wondering if anyone has any tips outside of the norm (I have been studying DL tips for weeks now!) or could share any information that they'd wished they'd have known as a first timer. Ridiculously excited, here!

My thought is to get to the park before opening and try to ride all of the most popular rides on my 'MUST' list before lunchtime, if possible.

Also, I'm a huge Michael Jackson fan, so getting to see Captain EO will be a big thing for me- how are the wait times? I haven't seen anything online to suggest that it's bad.

Just so you know, it seems that DL will be filming their portion of the Christmas parade for ABC on that Saturday, Nov 5th. From what it seems, the filming tends to clog Main Street for the most part, but everything else is not *too busy*.

Just make sure to be there when the gates open, make good use of FP and have lots of fun. :thumbsup2

Captain Eo wait times are short. Basically you can walk up anytime and get into the next show. They play about every 20 minutes.

Thanks for the info about the Christmas parade filming and about Captain EO!

I had assumed Captain EO wouldn't be too much of a wait, but it is certainly a must for me.

I would head straight for the matterhorn as there are no fastpasses for that ride and the lines can get quite long. Also, Fantasmic is a must see. People lay down blankets atleast an hour or more in advance to see the show so, arrive early. Have Fun!:cheer2:

That's a good tip about the Matterhorn, thanks! I am dying to ride that one. I'm thinking we'll grab a fastpass to Indiana Jones (hubby is a BIG IJ fan) and then head to the Matterhorn upon getting in the park.

We usually do not do Matterhorn first thing. There are other rides IMO which have lines that build faster than Matterhorn that should be ridden sooner. Usually if you hit Matterhorn inthe first couple hours it is not that bad.

My two cents. :wizard:

Thanks for the tips, guys! I really appreciate it, since I'm a newb. Now I'm thinking of sticking to my original plan of riding Indy first.
