Going to DL for the first time next week - quick ??

Hi,

Next Tuesday I will arrive at DL for a very quick two day trip and our first there.. I have 3 questions:

Will holiday decorations be up yet?

We will not get to the park Tuesday until noon-ish due to our flight in (also we are staying offsite) - can I just buy our tickets at the gate or do I really need to buy ahead?

Finally, with only 2 days, my husband and I decided we just want to do counter service at this point for meals... Any favorites? If so, favorite items?

Holiday decorations are starting to go up. Lots should be up but more will be added.

You can buy tickets at the gate.

Plaza Inn for their fried chicken is our alltime favorite counter service.

Holiday decorations should be up as of yesterday.

Allow me to persuade you to buy them in advance. The ticket line can be quite long.

As far as counter service, we are particularly partial to the gumbo in New Orleans Square. Just about everything is good though.

Another vote for buying your tickets in advance. You can purchase them on line and immediately print out an e-ticket with a bar code. You take that e-ticket directly to the park turnstiles where they scan it and hand you an actual (card) ticket. It literally takes a few seconds. As a PP stated, the lines at the ticket booths where you purchase on-site can get long and can waste a lot of your park time.

Fun counter service: Pinnochio's Village Haus, Flo's V-8 cafe, Redd Rocket's Pizza Port.

Yes, Christmas decorations will be up.

I agree with the others: buy your tickets online or at your hotel. The lines at the esplanade ticket counters can be long at times.

Another good counter service is the Hungry Bear. It has wonderful views and pretty good food. We also were surprised at how good Flo's V8 was last time. They have a great salad and great turkey sandwiches. And of course the Plaza Inn chicken dinner is a hit with most everyone.

Have lots of fun! I just left and am so ready to go back!

I like to eat a corn dog at DL and grab a flavored coke at coke corner!
