Going to Columbus Ohio in a week...

and was wondering if anyone could tell me a few fun things to do while there w/ 3 8 yr old girls. We are thinking of doing COSI and Magic Mountain, maybe the zoo but was trying to think of some other fun family things to do.

Lissa, you would be shocked, I have lived here since 1985 and really I don't know what there is to do here I would highly recommend the zoo though... I would put it way above COSI or Magic Mt. It truly is a beautiful and neat zoo... reminds me of Animal Kingdom in a way (has the foot prints and the like in the side walks with the soft music playing through hidden speakers). Acutally if I didn't have somewhere to be in a short while I would have gone today.

Otherwise all I can think of are the good malls we have and maybe the symphony (hey I liked it as a kid) I hope you have fun here no matter what next week!

You could find my inlaws and visit them for me! Would save me a trip but might not be too fun for you, so I guess thats out. I have never found out what there is to do there - I'm a woman on a misson when I'm in Columbus - get in, get out.

You really must visit the zoo. It is one of my kids favorite places to go. The same with COSI. They are having a special birthday celebration this month and it sounds like there will be some cool activities going on. Make sure to visit the girft shop for really cool souvineers. Ok so I'm a teacher and I love all that educational stuff!

Olentangy caverns might be interesting but I'm not sure if they are only open seasonally. It is not too far from the zoo.

Franklin park conservatory is beautiful but I don't know if 8yo's would enjoy it as much as adults.

Easton Town center is a nice shopping area. It's like a mini town. There is a Build a Bear here and a Gameworks.

If I think of any more I'll come back.

People from Columbus get mad when you say this (they site population) but the truth is its a farm town

We live in Columbus. Ds is 8.5.
He loves COSI, Magic Mountain(I don't like MM, too many
games with tickets), the zoo only if the weather is good.
We are zoo members and COSI members.
Highbanks Park north of town on US23 has a great
nature walk and indoor nature center with wonderful
bird watching from indoors. Galyans Sporting goods at
Easton has a wonderful climbing wall if they are inclined(no
pun intended ) also at Easton is "Build a Bear" which is
fun and a good movie theatre along with some great shopping
and Gameworks. Columbus Museum of Art sometimes has good
exhibits. Franklin Park conservatory on East Broad Street has
a great indoor walk in several different eco-systems and is
currently decorated with a fabulous and huge blown glass show
by Chahulli - amazing! At the Conservatory as well is a large
display of bonzai. We have a pro soccer team-the Crew, check
for possible games. Our parks are good! When are you coming,
sometimes the parks and rec system has free open houses.

I haven't been to Columbus OH in years, but I do remember my favorite thing was "Old Man's Cove". It is a wonderful nature adventure. It is an actual Indian site with caves and wildlife everywhere. They have picnic areas and paddle boats and we had a blast.

Old Mans Cave is actually quite a distance from Columbus in Southeastern Ohio. It would be about a 1.5 - 2 hour drive depending on where you are coming from. It is a beautiful area and well worth visiting if you have time.

shortbun do you know how long the Chahulli exibit is at Franklin Park. I wanted to go over but haven't made it yet. I was thinking it was leaving this spring sometime.

Also the Nascar 3D Imax movie is playing there in Columbus.
