WooHoo! Friends of mine have invited to eat with them at Club 33 during my next trip. I've never been farther than the lobby! I can't wait for this trip now!

Has anyone ever been? What can I look forward to?

I've been!! You'll have so much fun! Just to know you are among the Disney elite will make you feel like a princess (even though you'll probably be dressed in park clothes) ;)

I hope you have a wonderful time!! princess:

Are park clothes appropriate dress? or should it be more dressed up?

Can I take pictures upstairs?

thanks!

Diane

But I'll admit, when I went I wore a nicer shirt than I would have.
I have friends who go a couple of times a year and the last time they went(maybe 6 months ago) they were disappointed in the food. I guess it wasn't a buffet or something that time. Don't really know if something has changed, but we had a ball when we went, and yes we were allowed to take pictures, Mickey and Pluto came to the table for us to take pictures. Have fun!

You should note that character brunches are only held on Sunday.
They aren't there everyday and when they are they aren't there for long.

Thanks for all the information!

Due to both my digital and my old 35mm camera dying in the past 3 months, I just got back from buying a new digital camera - now, I just have to learn how to use it by the end of the month.

I'll be going on a Saturday, so I guess no characters. Oh well, I just want to get a picture of the glass elevator.

Wow - If I wrote a trip report, it wouldn't just include....I went on Tower of Terror 15 times, I saw Aladdin 3 times, ate at Taste Pilot's Grill and saw the parade and fireworks.

I might have to learn how to start a countdown clock!

If you're going for dinner, I would dress up a bit. You don't have to, but chances are the other diners will be dressed up. You can take pictures no problem. I took them all over as we were leaving and there weren't too many people around. Remember to get one of the phone booth upstairs. It was in the movie the Happiest Millionaire.

Also, remember to bring souvenir money and check out the Club 33 souvenirs they have. When I was there there were key chains, mugs, pins and shirts. Double check what you buy, however. My mug was chipped and I didn't realize it until I got home! Luckily, I was able to return it at the Disney Store.

We went last year on DL's 48th bday. It was spectacular! We went before the stopped the lunch buffet, everything was absolutely delish!!

Be prepared for sticker shock! LMAO but soooo worth it!

I'm sure you'll have a great time dining at the Club. As for the dress code, Club 33 currently does not have a strictly encforeced dress code, but they do request appropriate dining for a fine dining restaurant. Basically, they don't want you wearing sweats, beach wear, extremly short shorts or torn jeans. For dinner, they do like gentlemen to wear shirts with a collar (i.e. polo style shirt is fine). Many diners do dress up a little more for dinner.

If you are there for dinner, everything you order is off the menu. They do offer a prefix meal, but I can't remember what they charge for it. You should allow about 2 hours for dinner.

The Club did restructure their format for luncheon earlier this year. Salads and hors d'oeuvres are still a buffet. However, the main entree you order is off the menu (they do rotate the menu every 2 weeks). Also, I was told that they would offer dessert as part of the buffet 7 days a week (initially, they would only offer it on the weekends). I was told this last month, so I'm not sure if they implemented this.

Enjoy and have a great time!

I have to admit I haven't been to DL since 96 and have become more of a WDW expert since moving East, but we are planning a trip back to where my Disney fanaticism started next year to celebrate my birthday and attend the 50th Anniversary events.

So, I must ask...I have always heard about Club 33 but never knew how one gets the honor of eating there. Is it who you know or what you know?

Thanks for the help!

Club 33 is a private club that opened in May 1967. There is also a Club at Tokoyo Disney, but the membership is not reciprocal with the Club in Anaheim. Basically, it's like joining a country club. The Club does accept applications for membership, but the last time I checked, the waiting list was about 4 years. In order to dine at the Club, you either have to be a member or know a member who will let you utilize their membership.

Does the "33" have a special significance? I had never heard of Club 33 until I planned my first DL trip. Just wondering how it got it's name?

The name Club 33 is the club's address in New Orleans square, 33 Royal Street.

Thanks everyone for their responses, I really appreciate it.

I'm going on October 30th, and it is for lunch/brunch and my friends told me it costs about $50 for the meal.

I've tried the new camera and the pictures come out great! If I learn how to upload a picture into Dis, I'll load a picture upon my return.

I heard it was given the name of Club 33 because there were 33 investors to DL and they were all to be a part of the club.

This is the first time I heard the Club was named after the 33 investors at DL. Nevertheless, this is incorrect. The literature from the Club states that the name is from the address, 33 Royal Street.

I had heard that somewhere too but I can't confirm or deny if it's true.
