I got to work extra early today to get on the phones to DCL. After a four minute wait, I got somebody on the phone. All he knew was that summer 2006 opened today. I was the one to tell him about the special Western cruise to CC twice. :)

I am booked for the 7/22 cruise, where my wife and I will be celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary.

Who else was on the phones this morning?

FYI, the DCL website was not allowing reservations past January 2006. If you want these cruises, get on the phones!

May I be very rude and ask what category you booked and how much it is costing. I am not usually so bold but this is the cruise we are interested in.

I shall understand if you don't wish to divulge.

I put in requests with DU this morning, but I have no desire to go to CC 2x so maybe out dates will not be as full. Have already been there 5 times so 1x a cruise is enough for me. DU can do the work, I don't have time to be on hold on the phone and this way with multiple dates I can take a little time to decide.

KEH, it's not rude at all. I got Cat. 9 for $1628.78 per person. No insurance, no airfare, but yes on the transfers.

Now, if you asked for my reservation number and stateroom, then I would say you were a bit rude. ;)

We also are booked on a double CC cruise. I called this morning for a secret porthole on the 6/24 cruise. It will be $5140 for two adults & two children (including ins.).

The price is a bit high, but with two years to save we should be good. DH doesn't know that I called this morning, so we will be ahaving a fun discussion tonight!!

The CM I spoke to KNEW about the 2 stops at CC....she was VERY excited to tell me about it. She kept saying this was the cruise she wanted to be on!!

Good Luck to all who might be booking today!!

I'm on hold right now. Are all 2006 dates/rates out? We are looking for October 2006 - and want to book a Cat 1 or 2, so I'm already nervous - been on hold for 8 minutes and counting.

Okay, going to answer my own question now. Just got off the phone. All dates through December 2006 are out. They are still going through fax requests for Cats. 1-3 and have only made it through April, so I have to sit tight and wait.

OK. Out of curiosity I called to see how much the 8/19 "special western" would cost us. In the same secret porthole for the 4 of us It would be $1600 LESS!!

I realize this is Hurricane season & with all that people have been having to deal with this year I am more than a little concerned, but $1600!!??!!

Hmmmm.....

Anybody else book the double CC cruises? Is it too early to get a cruise meet thread going? :p

:sunny: I just e-mailed for the SPECIAL WESTERN for 10-14-06..Works out perfect cause DD is always off 2 days the 3rd week of October!!!!!:hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

I won't tell my family cause they will think I am nuts!!!!!

Still if I can secure my SPR and a low rate I am doing it!!!!!!

Hieatt,

What Cat are you looking at?????

I was wanting the Cat 10......I e-mailed allears cause she got me a great rate on our 10-15-05...A group rate for $1794 for 2!

I am very excited already!! I still have a year till my next DCL cruise and I am getting excited about 2006!

I will let you know when she gets back to me.:wave2:

Well, I am the leader of a family reunion group, so our group will be looking at various categories.

However, the primary motivator for us for this date was our 10th anniversary on Oct. 19, 2006, so our family is considering going whole hog for a Category 1. I still don't know the rates for this category - apparently they are going through faxes to inventory control for suite requests and they haven't gotten to October yet. We are a family of 6 so I am curious to see just how much more expensive a Cat 1 is over say two Cat 5 rooms for the 6 of us. I'll let you know when I find out!

Booked this morning for the 5/27/06 Double Castaway cruise. Cost for Cat. 10 is $3,499.12 for 2 adults and ages 15/11

Very disappointed in how expensive the cruises have gone. We cruised in 2002, same week and got a veranda for $3,100.

Oh well,

Pam

That would be grand!;) I will have to stick with one of my Secret Porthole rooms.....I love having the window for the inside price and I love the location on Deck 5...;) Close to everything....

Single Mom here! Have to plan ahead, but we manage just fine. My friends don't know how I do it!!!! Book early I tell them! Plus I tell them! I have a job and work hard so I think these trips with my DD are worth every penny!!!!!princess:

Who knows by then I may not be single. That would be fun!!!!::yes:: 2006 is a long way off....I have to put this one aside once I make my deposit.... I still have the 2005 one to plan for!

Michelle: If we actually go through with forking over that kind of money, you'll have to stop by for a visit to check out the cabin!

As for being single in 2006, I doubt it - I mean, a woman who goes on a Disney cruise every year - what man could resist!:bride:

Hieatt,

Thanks for the encouragement!! I am working on it!! hee hee!;)

Yes, I may have to take you up on that offer....I have never been in a Cat 1 stateroom.....

I will let you know what my TA can get me!!

Happy planning all!!!:wave2:

I just booked a Cat 11 for the double CC sailing of 8/19 and I was quoted $2099.56. It was actually almost $800 less than the regualr western cruise! I am a single mom too. When they asked my age at the time we cruise I couldn't believe it but I will be 40!!!!
