Going to BWV next July?

I just called MS to make my ressie for next July. We plan on being there from 7-6 through 7-13. I wasn't sure if I should call day by day, or wait until the check out day, so I called today to see how it looked. The person who I spoke with at MS said it has been booking very quickly, and she recommended that I do call the rest of the trip in day by day. Even though we are booking a 2 BR, she said the studios are going very fast, which does affect the availability of the 2 BR. Just a tip for anyone heading down at that time!

BUMMER!! My home resort is VWL, and we're going 6/30 - 7-9 next year and were hoping to get the last 4 nights at BWV. Well maybe I'll get lucky!!!!

Have you already booked those nights at VWL? If you haven't, you might want to just in case BWV is booked when you are able to call. The way people change ressies (me included!), they may book right away and then have things open up at a later date. Good luck!

Thanks for the heads up! We are going to be at BWV July 7-12 and I was going to wait until Monday to book our 2BR standard view--I'll call as soon as I get home!

when you call day by day, does MS have to know I will be calling the next seven days (or day by day for a full week reservation). Eventually, do you receive ONE confirmation number or seven numbers? Also, what if I call and get Sun and Monday nites, not Tuesday, and then get Wednesday thru Sat nites? I know I can wait list Tuesday, but how odd is that.

Sorry to get real specific, but I'm also going next July and would like to reserve a standard 1 bedroom.

Mouseclick1, yep, I'm in the process of locking up those ressies, only one more day to call!!!! Hopefully I'll get lucky, if not maybe the wait list will come through.

TheWho, when I started calling day by day, they asked what my eventual checkout date was and I just kept adding to that reservation, when my reservation is done, I will receive one confirmation in the mail.

Did you have any problems booking your room yesterday? I just found out that I got into a workshop tomorrow that I was on a waitlist for which means I won't be able to call right at 9:00. I plan to call as soon as we get a break, no later than lunch time for sure! Here I thought I had it made being able to call right at 9:00 every morning! Oh well...the workshop is a good thing and hopefully I won't have any problems! Just wondering how it went for you when you called!

No problems here! Just booked the first two nights of our BWV stay July 7-12--booked the nights of Sunday 7/7 and Monday 7/8. I'll book July 9 tomorrow and the other two nights next Monday. Got standard view, 2BR, non smoking, higher floor closer to the elevators.
Next week we'll book our 3 or 4 nights at VWL. I have to discuss with DH which one--we've never gone more than 7 nights, so going 8 or 9 is a big deal. We will have 5 nights at VWL in 2003, so if we only get 3 nights at our new "home" it's OK with me. He's been working so late it's hard to pin him down.

Boy, this incredible. Any logical reason for the shortage? Maybe it is the 100th Celebration. We have never had any serious problems. One time on a wait list for about 10 days. Last year we called at about 10 months and got two GVs at OKW for this summer. We were thinking about a BWV studio for next summer. I guess that I should make something at OKW for backup. Thanks for the "Heads Up."

I don't know if this is normal or not for this time of year. This is our first real DVC trip that we are planning, so I have nothing to compare it to. We did stay at the YC on points this past year because by the time we purchased, everything was already booked. All I know is that we plan to spend my son's birthday at BWV next summer, so I don't mind calling day by day to get what we want. When I called this morning, the CM also recommended that we book this way if we want standard view. Only two more days of calling and I'll be done!
