Going to Broadway?

Interesting. When I was in the city in august, they were giving out free smaple CD's of 4 songs from this play. I thought they were ok......what is the storyline about?

On on a different topic, I am very excited, yet very nervous about the RENT movie....I love RENT....just wondering how it will play in the movies as opposed to live theater?

You really must see "In My Life" - it was so unexpectedly awesome! :goodvibes

This is good to hear. It got a terrible review in my local paper. Just goes to show what they know. :teeth:

I'm thrilled to hear that the Odd Couple was amazing. We have tickets for March. :flower:

Sorry to hijack a little, but did anyone get to see "Bug" last year off Broadway? That was my friend Shannon who played the lead - now Naomi Judd is making the movie and all reports are that my friend was much better in the role!!!

I just thought some of you who had access to the New York theater district might have seen it or heard of it...

O.K., saw it again last night...totally syked for the movie now!! Psuedo celeb Jai Rodriguez from "Queer Eye" was sitting a couple rows in front of us with a date.

As far as the movie, from the looks of the commercials, they're using some incredible shots of the city, and not just in the LES. While watching it last night and thinking about it, I think that my only problem with the casting is Rosario Dawson as Mimi. Mimi's really the only character whose actual age we know (19) and Rosario Dawson has to be 30 at least. Her style is definitely "Mimi", I just hope she doesn't try and play it young and they just keep away from it, although I can't imagine them either not singing, or altering the lyrics, to "Light My Candle". We'll have to see...I'm still pumped!

The live show is so much better than the CD. It's an odd story about God wanting a reality opera - takes place in Heaven and on Earth. I think you just have to see it yourself to appreciate it. It's a wonderful love story. We actually want to go back to see it again!
