Going to ADR hours early?

Has anybody had experience going to an ADR like 2 or more hours early? We have a 7pm for 1900 PF on a MNSSHP night and was hoping to go at like 4:30 or 5pm. Do you think it may work? Anybody try it before?

Thanks

We did that once at Yak & Yeti in AK. We arrived about 1 1/2 hours before our ADR and asked if they had room to seat us sooner which they did.

If your ADR restaurant isn't booked solid or if they have a lot of open tables, I don't see why they wouldn't seat you sooner. I'm sure it just varies, though. You probably just have to try it when you get there and not be too upset if they say no I guess. It never hurts to try! Just have a secondary plan in place if you can't get seated at an earlier time. :)

As the PP said, it can work, but it can also not work. If the venue is full/crowded, they are unlikely to let you check in that early. I've been there when they were telling folks they could not check-in until 15 minutes before their ADR at BOG, 'Ohana, Le Cellier, Sci Fi, and CRT.

Given that MNSSHPs don't start for about two more months, you still have plenty of time to search for an earlier ADR. I would keep looking because people's plan do change and ADRs do come open. It would be better to have an ADR for the right time opposed to hoping that they can accommodate you early.

As the pp's said, it could work, but it might not. 1900 PF is pretty popular and if you aren't able to find an earlier ADR ahead of time, that means they are probably booked and most likely won't be able to accommodate you 2 hours early. With that said, I'd keep trying every day multiple times a day as people do cancel and you never know if/when something might become available. On one of our trips a few years ago I wanted 1900 PF on our Christmas party night and after months of trying with no luck, I finally got what I wanted (a 4:45 ADR) a few weeks prior to our trip, so things do sometimes open up. Good luck.

This. When I was there last week and the week before, EVERY place we went to (and we had about a dozen and a half different reservations) would not let anyone check in until exactly 15 minutes before. Everyone else was turned away and told that they could come back 15 minutes prior to their reservation time to check in.
