I've been lucky for the past year and a half to have some sort of Disney World or Disneyland on the horizon. I don't have any trips planned for the near future and I'm going through Disney withdrawal...help! ;)

Oh no! Well, pick a date and start planning! :) Even it's 2 years in the future, at least it's something.

Agree with the PP. Think about a good time to go and start making a list of things you want to do. Make a checklist of things that need to be done beforehand and assign some dates in the format V-x where V stands for the Vacation Date and x is the number of days ahead of time you need to accomplish the task by.

You can also use that format for things you plan on doing on vacation. V+2 would be day two of your vacation. :surfweb:

I feel your pain! Every time I come up with a very distant future date just to dream about, it gets nixed by one of my family members - "we can't go then, I'll have baseball practice" "we can't go then, that's when we go skiing" "we can't go then it'll be too hot." It seems I'm the only family member with the Disney obsession. Sometimes it's even too painful to come on the DIS and see all the happy people planning their trips...

Oh boy, do I feel your pain.
I think that you will find the consensus is the only way to get over one vacaiton is to start thinking about another.

I'm not ashamed to say that I start my countdown at least 500 days out! And I feel like I must have a minimum of one year to plan. When friends tell me they've just booked a trip for a couple months out and they are first-timers I actually get short of breath and darn near have a panic attack on their behalf!

I was planning my Nov 2012 trip while I was on my Nov 2010 trip!! :lmao:

I like all of these ideas! I may start cruising the resorts board for more info. Our next trip may be a group trip with either a group of friends and/or family, so we'll be looking for some hotel accommodations beyond just our typical room for two people.

I love this idea! I think this weekend I'll work on creating a chart like this just to have for future WDW trip planning. Great idea.

I feel ya! I'm 2 months out of my last trip with no future trip in sight :sad1: I just keep looking at the pictures over and over again...like a crazy person! :rotfl: I'm hoping for a trip in Dec 2013, but I'll be lucky if we go in 2014!! It sure didn't help that we came home to a flooded basement in December - the repair costs were a real drag after we'd just given all our $ to the mouse!!

Then you just have to plan for you or your immediate family. When your other family members hear that you are going, just tell them you couldn't wait for everyone's schedule to sink anymore. You must go!:woohoo:

I feel your pain! I am totally in planning withdrawal! I feel very spoiled because we are only a month off the Disney Wonder, but I need a trip in the works! DCL doesn't need any planning anyway :sad2:

I haven't started planning another trip to the World because I don't want to go at High Season again. We live overseas, so I can only get to FL in the summer and that always just makes for a Rush Rush Commando Style trip. (We do always have fun though. :goodvibes) I really want to have a relaxed low season trip instead, but I don't think I will get that until we moved back to the States, whenever that will be .. :sad2:

For me the countdown starts even before I've left. The trouble that I find myself having year after year is how I want to use my points and where I want to eat next time around. Unfortunately now I find myself also trying to find someone to go with me. :worried:

Yup, same here. No trip in the works and the only way I can deal with the withrdawal is to come to the boards. So here I am ... again.

My trip planning is constant.
DL v. WDW
When to go (grown kids and no school makes this a luxury)
Where to stay at WDW (Swalfin is default); where to stay DL (haven't a clue and I am really too cheap to stay on site)
I check prices frequently.
Drive v. Fly (same wear and tear regardless)

All of this without having any firm plan to return to WDW or go to DL this year or next.
