Please tell me about going Solo. DH started a new job in March and won't be able to go (probably would, but he won't ask, I understand), but my friend that I invited cant go either so I think I just might go alone (we don't have children).

I started by going solo in 2000, and have since taken some friends the last few years.

Quite frankly, I am hoping to go solo again this year - it has always been some of my fav trips.

Try out some of the lounges at some of the resorts and have munchies for dinner. My fav is the WL.

I always sit at some of the bars at the restaurants too. Great turnover for people waiting for a table and you strike up some wonderful conversations.

I opt for having one day to lay in bed all day and rest; opting for some pool time in the afternoon. But the rest of the days, I try to be out in the parks early, get done really quickly (you can do that solo), be back in the resort for some pool time and then get a bit dressed up and go out to eat.

I love going solo! But I take a different approach. I go-go-go in the parks from dawn 'til dark. That's the best thing about going solo - you can go at your own pace without worrying about what others want to do. I also like to tour the other resorts. Dining is no problem - even character dining, if you want. The CMs are always happy to chat with you or take pictures for you.

For my next solo trip I am either doing a segway tour of WS or the Keys to the Kingdom tour. Maybe both!

If you choose to go solo, I'm sure you will have a great time. You might not want to go any other way - lol.

I am a go-go-go kinda girl at WDW. We don't usually make rope drop, unless it is at 9am, but we do take a mid-day break for a swim and a nap, because night time in the parks is my favorite time, the later it is open the better.

I was thinking about doing Chef Mickey's Breakfast since this is my birthday trip, but nothing is set in stone, yet.

I think my biggest worry is the 6.5 hour drive, because I get sleepy when I drive, but I have no intention of flying. I think I would be fine, just crank up the radio.

Yes! Crank up the radio :) If you have an Ipod, download/upload some Disney music and make a fun playlist to play if you are feeling sleepy. Heck, play it to hype up your brain during the trip there! If you are in need of some Disney music, I have a whole host of stuff - I would be happy to burn you some CDs. Feel free to PM me if you like :)

Chef Mickey's would be so fun! Great people watching there, for sure :lmao:

Thank you Stacy, I do have some Disney music, if I could only get DH to download it to my Zune for me, then I would be all set. Most of those CD's are in my van, in fact I was listening to Illuminations several days this week on my way home from work.

Actually, it looks like DH is going to be able to get off for a couple of days. He is off that weekend, but he may be able to get Friday and Monday or Monday and Tuesday off. He has a wonderful new boss.

I haven't decided yet, whether we will go to Chef Mickey's or the Wishes Dessert Party, which we really enjoyed in September.

When I drive long distances, I listen to both music and podcasts.

I've never gone solo before, not even as a CM. I always felt uncomfortable lol. But I guess I need to try it when I move back to Orlando! Sounds like fun :)

I've gone solo several times over the last year. I do have friends in Orlando area or I join an event, so I'm not totally 24/7 alone. I have to admit to really liking it now. :lmao:

I wrote about most of it in the trip reports in my sig.

I adored going solo. I planned a couple of TS meals, figured out which park on which day and then winged the rest.

I had a wonderful time. I met some fabulous people, ate ice cream for breakfast, rode HM 7 times in a row one day. I took the Behind the Seeds tour which the rest of my family never wanted to do. I closed out the parks each night. I even made rope drop at DHS which I never do when my family is there. And I loved having a whole room to myself. It was fabulous.

Basically I did whatever I wanted. It sure was hard when we did a family trip 2 months later. I had to work harder so my family wouldn't drive me nuts sooner. :rotfl:

I'm planning an early December solo trip. I can't wait!
