Coming out of the rafters with a question...

Going down for a few days in September for some "me" time - just me. Have the extra points so I'm splurging and staying in a one bedroom @Saratoga and getting the deluxe dining for the week. Please don't judge - it's been a rough year medically and I need to recharge mentally, physically and spiritually. This is my way of do that. My question is this, my husband *may* be able to join me later on in the week if work permits. How will that work since he will not be on the reservation... no magic band (no access to room) other than me. No dining plan but obviously will pay out-of-pocket and he may or may not want to visit a park? How should I proceed? Suggestions?

Can you get a room discount then and not get the dining plan? If you don't have the dining plan, you can simple put him on the room. Then pay out of pocket for meals instead.

Go to the check in desk a day or two before he arrives and add him to your room. They will just add a person, not the passes or dining or other package components. When added he can take ME, can go to the ME desk to get a voucher to scan for the bus since he won't have a MB. If you have an old MB of his still linked to your MDE account he could use it once he's added to the room reservation. If he wants to go to a park he just buys a ticket for as many days as he wants, he is separate from your package reservation.

This works when adding a person once you are already there for just part of your nights. Won't work to add him ahead of time, then he would be part of your package with tickets and dining.

Sounds AMAZING and can't think of a better to leave reality and recharge (beach a close second). ENJOY! pixiedust:

THIS^

I have done this many times. Everything taken care of at front desk for ME. They also give me a MB at the front desk (we got choice of colors last few times) for them once there.

Yes, this! Also, if you want to and have extra credits, you can use them for DH's meals as well. If he decides he wants to visit a park, simply buy him a ticket. If he knows ahead of time he wants to visit a park, link the ticket to his profile in MDE and you can make FP+ for him as well (at the 60 day mark as long as he is in your account as Friends and Family).

Oh, I knew I could depend on you guys to set me straight! Great information. Thank you all so much. I was making it too complicated in my head, lol.

I do solo trips all the time...going to disney to recharge is a wonderful idea. Cant think of a better place to do it....well, the beach too of course. :) Solo trips are wonderful, nobody to argue with, you can do what you want, eat where you want, rest when you want. Have a lovely time! Im going solo again in November and I cant wait! :goodvibes

Yep!

I've been doing solo trips since my son was 3. We'd had a very stressful family trip and I never relaxed during it, and was kind of losing it at home, so they sent me away lol. To Disneyland.
