I am planning to take my 7-year old for the first time to Disney & Universal. We will stay onsite both places. Is the weather really hot and humid in mid-August? My son will probably not want to spend all day in the park and he sure will like to spend some time at the pool. Do any resorts have indoor pools? Thanks.

Hi Tarpon,

Yes, the weather is VERY HOT and VERY HUMID, with a good chance of thunderstorms every afternoon for anywhere from 15 minutes to a couple of hours. The rain will cool things off for maybe 45 seconds.

No indoor pools at WDW resorts, but you and your son will be very pleased with the outdoor pools!

Have fun,

Bob

We have gone 2nd week in August 4x. Yes, it is very hot :sunny: . We are at the parks as soon as they open and tour till mid afternoon and go back to the hotel for a swim and nap. As the parks are open longer at this time of year, we go back to the park in the evening 5 or 6ish. This has always worked well for us. We have stayed at the POR, CB, CS and BC at disney and none of them have an indoor pool. I don't know about the other resorts on site at Disney. At Universal we stay at the Hard Rock Hotel and they do not have an indoor pool either.

no indoor pools at Universal resorts either. Believe the only indoor pool would be the Embassy Suites.

I have gone in August twice, trust me, after spending 1/2 day in park, coming back to pool and having it rain, aint all that bad. gives you a good time to rejuvenate for the evening.

have fun
