Going June 1 -9. Worried about the rain.

I read weather.com, which said that June is the wettest month in Orlando. Has anybody been that can advise about how much it rains? Thanks.

Wellllllll, in June 2002, June 21-25 to be precise, it rained heavily every day, for a bit longer than normal.....we got so good with our ponchos that we could put them on without breaking stride! That June was not normal though, I think they had 10 consecutive days with rain, but I have never seen it like that before or since.

usually it rains almost every day in the middle of the afternoon, sometimes for 10 min of drenching downpour other times for hours. just pack ponchos and waterproof shoes. Alot of time the rain clears the park out, so rain can mean smaller crowds too.

June 15th - 19th last year it rained once.

Gotta just take them as predictions. They can guess what happens but can never be 100% sure it will rain until drops are falling from the sky.

on our last trip in June it rained evryday but it was usually for a short period.We just put on poncho s and did indoor stuff as much as possible while it rained.We only had one day that the rain lasted, it stormed in the afternoon and continued thru out the night. we spent some time at the rsort and then went and had a nice dinner.

We were there this past June during the same time frame and didn't have much rain at all. I remember it rained the night we saw Fantasmic and for a short time during our afternoon at MGM and for about 15 minutes at Animal Kingdom. Not a problem at all.

We always go the first week of June, and honestly, it has rained at least once every time. The best trip that we had was when we went to Epcot and it poured all day. We bought the yellow Mickey Mouse ponchos and "quacked" our way through the park. We had the most fun on that trip! Just be prepared for pop-up thunderstorms at ANY time. Pack some ponchos and take a brush! Every single trip will be memorable regardless of the weather. Don't let the fear of rain dampen your spirit! Have a magical trip! (We will be there June 4-10.)

It usually rains once a day for about 10 min. any time from May through Aug. That's normal...you just duck into an attraction or alcove somewhere and wait it out. We were there in 2002 at the end of June when each day there were hours of down pour, unusual. Also been there in June when we barely got a sprinkle each day. You just never know but be prepared for rain no matter what.

The first time we went to WDW with the children was that week. When we first arrived we went to Magic Kingdom and it poured for about 20 minutes. Even though there were puddles we had a great time. We did buy those bright yellow rain coats at WDW (because we did not bring out own - but did learn to bring our own afterward since everyone looks the same). We usually wear red so we can tell the group.
Don't fret on the weather. You'll have a great time no matter what the weather may bring you! Sending you thoughts.

We go every year at this time (early June) and yes it does rain nearly if not every day and it can be torrential downpours to severe thunderstorms. BUT it normally doesn't rain for more than 20 minutes to an hour, and most of the time it is mid to late afternoon. We have always been ready for a break by them anyway. AND like a previous poster said.. ya get really good with those ponchos.

We were there last week of May and first week of June in 2003. It did start raining more in June - but it was sporadic. I took a supply of Dollar Tree ponchos with us and always had one handy in my pack. They were so cheap that when we were thru with them we could just toss them instead of trying to pack up a wet poncho.

A couple of times it was raining at MK and we hopped over to Epcot where the sun was shining and there was no sign of rain. So you can always hop to another park and possibily miss the rain! Our last night there we were at MK trying to decide whether to do E night again, and it started pouring - so we decided against doing Enight again and hopped to Epcot and got to enjoy a rain-free evening and see Illuminations one last time.

When we were there in mid June 2000-for the 8 days we were there it rained once-just once. When we were there in mid June 2002-it rained 5 out of the 7 days we were there. We just put on our ponchos and had a blast!!! Dont worry-you cant do anything about it so enjoy it!!

We were there that week too!!! Got stuck at EPCOT for about an hour in Innoventions during a horrible thunderstorm. It rained frequently in the evening that week too.

I agree with disney junky. It always rains in the summer so as long as you're prepared you'll be fine. I don't mind getting wet when it's hot anyway!

I always hope for the rain.

It keeps people away. Very few things (if any) close just because of rain, as long as lightning isn't involved.

As long as it stops long enough for Fantasmic.

It rained on us a few day in June. When it stopped it was so hot we wished it was raining! The rain doesnt stop us at all!
