Going in Sept 2008 for my Honeymoon

I am hoping my fellow Disney freaks (lol) can help me out with this. My fiance and I will be getting married in April of 2008, but for budget reason are not taking our honeymoon until Sept 2008. I would like to know if when you get to your Disney resort and let them know it is your honeymoon, do they do anything special for you? If not, I might like to have something arranded for my husband. Welcome to the boards! To answer part of your question, *in theory* they can do nice things for you if they know it's your honeymoon (I've heard of everything from free champagne to signed cards from Cinderella/Prince Charming to a room upgrade). That's why it pays to specifically tell them you'll be on your honeymoon and wear the little "Just Married" pins you can pick up from pretty much any guest relations place. HOWEVER, it is definitely not a guarantee, and is completely up to the generosity of the cast members. We, for example, got very few things, and those only sporadically.

As for things to do or places to eat, I would definitely check out some of the other boards on here; the dining board is especially helpful. I know several brides have done the carriage ride at Port Orleans. I hear that is very nice. Good luck!

We are getting married is sep 2008 and will be disneymooning untill 11th sept as well so I would be interested in knowing this to.
We already have our travel agent mark the booking with honeymoon so we are hoping on flight upgrades!

I think the general consensus here is don't EXPECT anything, and then you will be happy....

Personally, My husband and I weren't upgraded or anything, but we did recieve some mardigras beads and a "happy honeymoon" laminated certificate signed by mickey and minnie (from Port Orleans Riverside). Other than that we got a lot of free desserts from restuarants with our "just married" buttons (from guest services).

As for places to eat...I've said it before, but our favorites were Cinderella's Royal Table and California Grill. We had free dining plan when we went, and both were amazing. We actually went to CRT our first night in florida and the fairy godmother made me cry she was so sweet, fawning over the honeymooners (just me and DH). The food at both places is amazing, you can't go wrong with these. Feel free to PM me with any other questions

OH, and i almost forgot, put on your reservation that it's your honeymoon, and have them add it to any dining reservations you get too...sometimes the whole waitstaff will sign a certificate for you etc.

There are LOTS of great restaurants to choose from, but I second the California Grill. Time it right and you can watch the Wishes fireworks from the balcony. We liked this much better than watching it from the park since we heard the soundtrack much better. The view is breathtaking!

We had an earlier dinner at Cali grill and we were told we could come back to watch the fireworks from there if we wanted to, so even if you can't get the later ressie you can go up there and watch from the balcony ....at least that's the impression I got.

Thank you so much for your help! I really cannot wait to go to Disney. I did the college program back in 2001-2002 and have not been back since. I have missed it so much!
