My family has reservations at HRH for middle October. This will be our first time at Universal. I would appreciate any and all information about events that will be going on during that time. I have looked at the calendar to see when the parks open & close. Also I have a few specific questions:

1. Where is the best place to see Scooby (my 6 yr daughter has been to Disney every year since she was born, I am having a hard time selling Universal - except for Scooby , she just LOVES Scooby so I want to make certain she gets to see him)

2. Do they still have Dive In Theater at HRH?

3. What is the Halloween event that is going on during Oct.?
How much does it cost?

4. My parents are also joining us, they are in their early 60's, they are afraid they will be too old for the rides. Can I put their minds at ease?

5. How can I obtain a Hard Rock Membership card?

6. We are staying in a club room - does anyone have a certain room that I should try and request?

Thank you for all your help in advance. I know over the years that the information that I have received when planning our WDW vacations has been priceless!!!

To answer some of your questions, Scooby Doo can be seen around the park during the day. The easiest place to find Shaggy and Scooby is in the meet and greet in Woody Woodpecker's Kidzone.

Halloween Horror Nights occur in October. The cost depends on your discount. Event only tickets cost around $50. A HHN ticket with your day's admission is around $20-$30. AP holders get in for around $20-$30.

Our family is also going in October. The HHN tickets are $56.95 but if you buy a one day park pass with it, for the two it is $74.10 for an adult and $64.56 for a child so either way you look at it you are going to one of the parks for half the price which to be is the best way to go versus buying them seperate.
Hope that helped a little :D

You mentioned you have a 6yr old. The Halloween Horror nights aren't recommended for kids under 13. I haven't been but people on this board say it's pretty intense.

The rides at IOA do tend to jostle you around quite a bit. But the theming is pretty amazing and there are some neat shows and "adventures" namely Sinbad show and Posideon's adventure. Universal has more (as someone is another post put it) rides that are "experiences" as opposed to thrills. If your parents like to people watch, both parks offer bakeries near the entrances to the parks with outside seating.

I think you can get a HRH card by going to their website.

Have fun!

We saw Scooby at the buffet at Portofino ( I forgot the name of the restaurant, but it's the only one with a buffet). They have a section in the restaurant set up for kids with small tables, big screen TV, and bean bag chairs (heaven for adults). Scooby spent alot of time with my daughters. I highly suggest a visit there or see if Hard Rock has the same set-up?
