Hi everyone! Our family is taking a trip to FW Nov 10-17th and wondering if anyone has gone at this time before and if so was it too cold??? Also do they heat the swimming pools?

Also this might sound like a ridiculous question but each campsite has a fire pit right?? Online it says a charcoal grill but I want to make sure we have a fire pit for nightly fires to sit around. It just wouldn't be camping if they didn't have that.....Do they sell firewood there at lodge?

We already have another reservation made for a townhouse but I'm seriously thinking of cancelling it and booking a campsite. Of course I was brought up on famly vacations of camping so it's something I love. My DH is another story. He went camping for first time 2 years ago so don't know if he'll give me the go ahead as he does not really associate camping and vacation. Of course if we were in a nice cozy RV he might feel differently. :) But it's tenting for us...for now at least.

I'm also worried about having enough room to pack everything we need for camping. We have a new Hyundai Sonata and lovely car but we are driving down from PA and there is a lot to pack for the four of us PLUS all the camping supplies. Any suggestions???

Also was wondering for anyone that drove down to DW from up NE area if you stopped at any campsites on the way down through.... If so & you have any recommendations on some nice sites to stay at on the way--It would be greatly appreciated!!

There are no fire pits at the campsites. Aside from charcoal fires in grills, fires are only allowed in fully enclosed portable type pits which you must purchase and bring yourself. No firewood is sold. Due to sometimes dry conditions at FW, fires are often banned. Notices will be posted at the comfort stations if this happens. A campfire program is held each night, weather permitting, over in the meadows area.

What FtWildernessGuy said, although the last few years in November we've been able to have fires, there hasn't been a ban in place. Your best bet if you're driving and don't have much room would be a small enclosed one that they sell at various stores.

Pools are heated. Not too cold for us after Thanksgiving so I assume with you being further north than we are, it won't be for you either.

Nope. No firepit, just your grill. I thought the same thing before we started camping at FW but I have since converted :teeth: We still call it camping..."Camping Disney Style." Do the campfire program, they have the fire pit, s'mores and movie! :thumbsup2

Luggage rack. We have a mini-van and there's only 3 of us. It's always packed even with the back row seats and one of the middle seats removed. When we camp Disney Style, we take everything but the kitchen sink.

Lots of campgrounds up and down the length of I95, but most you wouldn't want to stay in other than overnight. That's what they cater to - many with few or no amenities. Every State has a visitors center just over the border and we pick up a campground directory when we enter the State we will be staying in for the night. Truck stops let you stay overnight free, but don't expect to get much sleep. They are noisy. We miss an outdoor campfire, too, but the rocking chairs on the porch at Trails End are even better than a campfire!

Hi, we'll be at FW 11/7 to the 13th. Me, DH, DS-7, DD-3, MIL and mom all in the cabins. Maybe we'll see you at the pool.

Hope to see you all there at FW!! Don't forget your green Mickey's!! Hoping the weather is still warm enough for a dip in the pool!! ;)
