We are planning on going the first week in May.:woohoo: What can we look forwad to like weather and how crowded will the parks be? Any help would really be good so that we could these dates in stone.

Thanks

This is my favorite time to visit! :thumbsup2 We have found the weather to be temperate, but not too hot or too chilly, although nothing is guaranteed about that! ;) Crowds do not start to build up until later in the month. Theme park hours may be somewhat abbreviated. The Flower Festival is still taking place until mid-month at EC.

This is about the time we went last year! It was 100x better than going during Spring Break (like we did the previous year). Don't get me wrong, it's still very busy but I noticed a big difference in lines for rides. We waited FOREVER to ride POTC during SB but last year walked right on a couple of times!!! It was pretty hot though. Maybe more humid than anything. I started out the first day with my normal make up and hair...next day had the hair pulled back and normal make up...by the third day I wore tinted moisturizer, some mascara, and had my hair pulled back. It was a waste of time to get ready because my hair was frizzy and my make up had already sweat off within the first hour. Having said that though, it was really a wonderful time to go. We are going again 1st or 2nd week of May 2010!

:woohoo:Thanks for all your help. I think we will just have to go with the flow like we usually do. But still can't wait to I get back to see MICKEY and Friends.:cool1::yay:

We'll be down the second week of May and are looking foward to lighter crowds than our first trip as well. We went last year for our very first trip, in June and it was busy.

From what I've been able to find online pretty much says as long as Easter is earlier than later in April then May is a great time to go.

I'm still working on my type A personality with planning and hoping we can get all of our ADRs done on the first day we can, but at the same time hope the crowds are low enough that we can throw out the touring plans and just "go with the flow" and walk on some of the headliners.

We're taking our friends with us for their first trip so hopefully we can all have some magic :wizard: while down there and we can create some new Disney addicts.

Totally unrelated to your post....I just had to comment... My best friend and my husband call me "Stinkerbell" a lot. Your name is great! Not quite sure why they do that. I don't find it humerous.:rotfl2: Well, maybe I do. It could be that I have Tinkerbell plastered all over my office and clothing and such and can be a tad bit mischievous but still....

I guess I should say something about weather in May. I would think it would be hot but not near as hot as August!! I grew up in Florida although I look like a big ole tourist when I go down there now!!

I hope you have a wonderfully, magnificent, and truly magical vacation, my fellow Tinkerbell fan!!:tinker:

We looooove May! Our family visited this past May, arriving on Memorial Day, and enjoyed beautiful weather and reasonable crowds! The Flower and Garden festival was finishing up, so Epcot was beautiful. We'll be visiting in May 2010, perhaps the second week, and are so happy to return!

We go at the end of May. This past year the folks that were just ending their trips had endured monsoon rains everyday. I guess we brought the sunshine because we had some very beautiful days. So my advise is as usual be ready for some rain during your trip...

I got this name from my daughter she really coulndn't get tinkerbell out she called her stinkerbell and that is what I still call her to this day but she she is only 6.

I too am going in May of 2010. We will be there May 7-16.

We picked these dated by process of elimination.

We want to avoid the June-July-August crowds with school being out. We want to avoid the September-October heat. We want to avoid the Christmas decorations in November-December since we can't make it an annual trip and I KNOW the kids would want that even more if they saw the park decorated for the Holidays. We want to swim, so January-February-March can be risky for getting warm enough weather. That left April-May. We wanted to avoid spring break madness in April and Memorial Day crowds at the end of May.... so we picked May 7-16th.

We went in May of 99 and it was PERFECT!!!! There were next to no lines for anything and the weather was beautiful. Everything was open because all the refurbishments were completed ready for the peak season.

I know a lot has changed since then though... but I am still hoping for a beautiful May trip.

We went in September of 2007 for free dining and it was really hot. There were times I just wanted to lay down on the pavement... just to not be standing up anymore. :faint: There were also several things closed for refurbishment after a busy summer season. The lines were long and the busses packed. :crowded:

I know what you mean we went in sept of 07 for free dining and thta was way too hot for us, we went dec 08 for the christmas feel at disney that was great, and we didn't want that spring break thing because of all the crowds so that left may(and getting a pin code helped also). So I am just hoping for the weather we had in dec in may when we all go. Have a great vacation!!

We were at WDW the very first week in May this year. Weather was great! It really only got hot in the afternoon...but it was only hot in the sun and was absolutely bearable...unlike our July and August trips have been. And the crowds were very manageable even with the buy 4 get 3 free deal that was well in effect at that time. I would definately do the first week in May again.:thumbsup2

We just booked our trip for May 8-15th! Exact same time we were there last year. Wonderful time to go!

I got this name from my daughter she really coulndn't get tinkerbell out she called her stinkerbell and that is what I still call her to this day but she she is only 6.

Very cute. I bet she is a sweetie. Kids are so much fun with the words they come up with and the things that make them happy. If life could only be so simple. Hey, when you go to WDW it is!!! At least it seems like it to me...

In may you can occasionally get a day with (relatively) low humidity :littleangel:. Not so much later into the Summer. :headache:
