Hey everyone, like most people who are going on a Disney Trip I plan on adding a day at Islands of Adventure (mainly for Wizarding World of Harry Potter). We are going the 2nd week of May.

I was planning on staying the entire time in Islands of Adventures because I know for sure that I want to hit Forbidden Journey (at least) twice... AND I know that WWoHP will be crowded, BUT now I'm just wondering if we will be able to do both parks in one day. We don't really need or want to see a lot of attractions in Universal Studios. If we do go there it would be mostly for The Mummy ride. Is "The Mummy" ride worth the extra 30 bucks + walking back and forth?

And I know I can upgrade my tickets to a park hopper, but if I choose to do both parks I really want to go with the Dreams Unlimited deal.
What should I do?

P.S. We'll be taking Mears shuttle either way

The walking back and forth shouldnt be an issue. It's literally a 5, if you're a slow walker 10 minute walk. The only things separating the two are: NBA City, Hard Rock Live!, and Hard Rock Cafe.

I would say you could do both but it really just depends on your style and speed. You're the kind that likes to ride all the rides and look at every detail, probably wouldn't recommend it. If you're the kind that just rides a few rides and/or doesnt look around you probably could.

Also to take into consideration is if you will have express passes? Im assuming not. If you did I would say no problem both parks! But not having it does add the wait times of all the queues in there so you would be cutting it.

And lastly- it looks like the parks close at 7 during that week and 6 on Friday nights.
So you have to take that into account....

Assuming no express passes, park closure at 6 ot 7, and wanting to experience a good bit in IOA.. I would say don't stress yourself trying to run around the park all day. Get a base ticket and enjoy your day. Seems like you're going to have a busy/tiring week anyways! ;)

We did 2 parks in 1 day back in November. Somehow the tickets we had bought had early entry so we were able to start seeing WWOHP at 8, and that helped a great deal.

Thank you both very much!

No we won't have express passes.
It's just going to be 2 adults that are going... so I just have Spiderman, Hulk, Cat in the Hat, and the rides in WWoHP on my itinerary. I've been to LA's Universal frequently and I just wanted to see the difference between The Mummy ride. I guess I can save that for later!

It really is going to be a busy week! :lmao:

Thanks again!

I know you said you want to upgrade if you think you will... but if for some reason you get to the park and make the wrong decision you can always upgrade. *shrugs* but you have plans to go back anyways ;)
