We've gone in early Feb twice with much success. Thinking about moving the trip to early Dec this year for MVMCP. I've been getting very mixed feedback when reading various threads on Pop Warner week, etc..... "avoid it if you can"..... "we didn't notice them"..... yet Len/UOG shows Pop Warner week as a 1 compared to the week after Thanksgiving as a 3. When we've gone in early Feb, it's been a 3.

I'd like to experience a 1 (and MVMCP). Everyone says early Dec is "light crowds", but are they comparing it to summer (one person actually did), or are they comparing it to Jan/Feb?

My fellow DISers who have gone in early Feb and early Dec--- I'd greatly appreciate your thoughts on crowd comparisons.

I have been to the world at both early Dec. and early Feb. and there really isn't much of a difference. I think the weather is better in February, just about the same temps, but Feb has been drier when I've been there. The crowds were light in both Dec and Feb. I personally prefer Feb. because it is a nice break from the NE winter. The only real advantage to going in early Dec is getting to take in all of the Christmas decorations.

I went the first week of December in '04 and crowds were light comopared to July and about the same for the other off-months I've been there (I've been in Oct, Nov, and May previously), hardly a wait for anything, and what did have waits we'd just FP.

I have to say, that I didn't care for all the Christmas decorations! They were pretty and all, but I missed all the usual music they played at the parks and resorts (the Christmas music got old after about 3 days!), and Main Street didn't seem quite right, some how. We had the trip of a life time, but I wouldn't go at Christmas again if it could be avoided, just because of "Christmas overload". But the crowd levels were fine.

We have been in early December and early February and I think I prefer December. February is not bad and I would go back again during that time (in fact our next trip may be early Feb if I can't get the week off I want from work).

We found that the weather was actually much warmer and drier in December but winter in Florida is always unpredictable. In Feb 2004 I thought it was much more crowded than our early December trip and it caught me off guard. We had been in early December and in mid-January and I expected the same crowd levels but there was a noticable difference in crowds levels in Feb. I think a crowd level of '3' when compared to a level '1' in December is probably right on the money.

However, I LOVE the Christmas decorations and all of the holiday spirit. It really is a fun time to go but WDW is fun whenever you can go, right?
