will it be to cold to swim ???

We are staying at the Dolphin and my DD's Love swimming
is there any chance it will be warn enough??

We stayed the first week of dec in 2004 and the second week of dec in 2005. We only had one day warm enough for shorts or swimming, most days we wore coats. I wouldnt plan on a lot of swimming, if any.

Unfortunately, we didn't do much swimming in December of 2004, either.

One thing that might make it worse at the Dolphin is that, unless it has been changed, their pools are not heated, either. When we were at the Swan/Dolphin in November of 2003, the weather was warm enough to swim but their pools were a little chilly.

My dgd and I were there the 1st week of December 2004 and she swam just about everday. I thought the weather was great. We wore light jackets at night. We did MVMCP on the 7th and wore just t-shirts most of the night. The only day that was on the cold side was Sat. the 4th.

We were there for the second week of December in 2004. There was only about one day that swimming might have been considered, but we didn't do it. Most of the days were much too cold for swimming (in the 40s or low 50s as highs), and at night you needed a coat. We had a couple of nights that were down in the 30s.

That being said, weather is such a variable thing! We've been there for Thanksgiving (just a few days before December) and been sweating in shorts and tank tops!

We were there the last week in Nov and first week in Dec this past year and the sweetpea was able to swim on a few days. A couple of the days were hot enough to swim, the others were just were enough. There were a few days though that were way to cold to even go without a sweatshirt. I would bring swimsuits but play it by ear.

Depends on your tolerance for cold. I didn't think so, but it was in the mid 60's to mid 70's when I went in Dec.

We were just there Dec.17th-26th and my DD's did swim a couple of times. The pool was heated, so it wasn't that bad in the pool. When they got out of the pool, they were freezing.

My kids always swim in December...personally I think it's too cold, but they don't seem to mind!!!

We are always there the Friday after Thanksgiving through the following week and have always found one day to swim. Even have gone to the water parks. The water is heated!!!! :smooth:

The first week of Dec. '01, the weather ranged from 80 to 84 degrees, and my kids swam every day. I know that it was unseasonably warm that year, but it just goes to show you never know about Dec. in Fla.!

We were there for 2 weeks over this past christmas and new year and swam nearly every day. The swimming itself was fine, it was the getting out that was cold!! We had a ground floor room at the BCV though and could get from the pool to our room in under 10 seconds which helped!!!!
