Going In August??!?!?!?!

Did I just make the biggest mistake ever?
I'm going in August (yes i know a lot of you are too)
Can somebody that's been there in august tell me about the crowds and temperature plz!
(and i have birnbaum's book, but i want your opinion, too)

Hi there...

We did 2 weeks last August and we are booked for 16 nights this August.

It is hot.... very, very hot - so be prepared for the hottest heat! lol

The crowds are light, lines short and I found it a very good time to be at Disney.

Beware of rain every day in the afternoon... like clockwork around 1-3pm an electrical storm would arrive with heavy rain & lightning - then like magic it would clear up and leave a beautiful and cooler evening. This happened 11 out of our 14 days.

The crowds got bad at the labour day weekend, then the parks were packed... this would be the weekend to avoid at all costs.

Yes, it's hot and yes, it is crowded, but you'll be fine! We've been going in August for years. The heat really doesn't bother me, but I still avoid the parks at peak time (afternoon) just because there are a lot of hot, cranky people roaming around. Expect a little thunderstorm for a short time each day. They disappear just as fast as they roll in though.

We're also frequent August visitors. I love August. I love going back to my resort in the afternoon to cool off in the pool. I love swimming comfortably at night. I love going into a nice cool restaurant for a relaxing lunch to cool off, and I love how a/c is around every corner and on every ride. The heat is managable and the crowds are managable too. Have a great time!

We've been going to Florida in August for three years now. Yes, its hot, very hot.

Its fine with me though, because at least when it is that hot.. it sure is nice to see palm trees.


Yes the thunderstorms come in every afternoon like clockwork.
