I should be on here posting up my SDD, but having just spoken to the DLH and customer services I am in a bit of spin instead!

I booked a Christmas room at the DLH for 18 - 22 December for just me. This is because DH, DS and DD are all getting AP's while we are there to use over the coming year. The intention being to add them for room only later.

I rang the DLH today to ask for them to be added and the lady told me that as I booked through Disney I would have to ring customer services and ask them to do it as the hotel cannot do this.

So I rang CS and the (rather snippy!) CM told me that to do this would be an additional £469! I explained that the others do not require park tickets as they will have AP's and she said that she can only add them on the same package as myself. If I just want to put them on the room then ring the DLH and get them to do it. And then she added that as I booked for just one person, they may well have given me a room with one king size bed rather than one with two doubles.:scared1: Best bet is to just turn up on arrival and try to do it at the desk.

I don't want to do that! I am worried sick that we will get there and it cannot be done and it's too late to do anything about it.

Sooooo....... another phone call to the DLH, spoke to lovely lady and asked if she could tell me which kind of room I have based on my booking (as I know there are only a limited number of Christmas rooms). She could not tell me, but said that she has put a note on my booking that I need two double beds and the allocation of rooms is only made 3 days before arrival.

I will ring 2 days before we go, but I will now worry myself silly between now and then that it can't be done. It has really taken the edge off of my excitement. It all looked so simple when I read up on how to book this way! Has anyone booked like this and then NOT been able to add the others to their room?

it will all be fine - lovely DLH lady is right :) - your actual booking details don't go to the hotel to allocate the room until around 3 days before you check in, so phone them at 3 days out, and ask for a room for 4, as there will be 4 guests in the room.

my mam has had an ap for the last six of our trips and i have never had a problem adding her at check in. you just say that they will be staying with you but have aps so don't need tickets and you wish to pay the local taxes for them.

the woman you spoke to was correct your booking will only be on the hotels system three days before you arrive. if you have asked for a room with two double beds im sure you wont have any problem.

Hi,

If it helps, I always email the UK Admin team using the address - dlp.uk.admin@disneylandparis.com with the details of my booking to advise that there will be additional people.

However, they did response last time that "There is no need to add them in advance. They will pay for local taxes locally.". After I asked they did add a note on the booking.

Regards

Iain

Poor you....try not to fret I know loads of people who added people to room on arrival....my friend rang the hotel (HNY) 3 days before her arrival and advised them that there would be 4 in the room not one person.....it was no problem....they even got upgraded to Empire State Breakfast when they arrived! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the reassurances. My frayed nerves are a bit calmer now. This is a situation I am unlikely to have again as I believe it is only the DLH that has any rooms with just one king bed rather than beds for four (unless someone can advise if that is not correct?) and I doubt I can afford the DLH again.

I have the Santa Fe booked for February and the Cheyenne booked for Halloween, so I am sure I will be much more confident once I have done it for the first time.

Can I ask...... if I don't put DH,DS and DD on the room booking until arrival will the hotel easypass say that there's 1 or 4 guests? And will the others get a fastpass for each day too? I know it is only for one ride per day, but used in conjunction with the usual fastpass system it all helps.

When I added DH to our Sequoia Lodge room in September they gave him his own easypass. I don't know about the fastpasses though.

I'm sure I've seen a picture of a double room a the Sequoia Lodge.

I'm sure I've also seen a description of HNY suggesting it has a number of rooms suitable for only 2 people, having only a large(r) bed.

This was really the reason that I started emailing them. I read someone's trip report where they arrived a HNY (family of 4) only to find that the very full hotel had allocated one of these 2 people rooms and wasn't very happy to have to sort it out.

we were given two king bed rooms in the Sequoia Lodge but that was years ago, prior to the refurb so no idea if they still have them

there are king bed rooms in all the onsite hotels, except the Santa Fe and Cheyenne I bellieve.

When you add others to your room at check in, they will re-print the easypass for you, from one person to 4 in your case.
I'm honestly not sure about the fastpasses, I don't know if they are only provided for package bookings?

Well, a quick update. I rang the DLH last night (couldn't wait any longer!) and spoke to a gent on reception and explained that I need to check if I have a room that sleeps four and he told me that it HAD been put on my notes that I had requested this and...... WE DO!!!!!!! Wahoooooooooo!!!!!!!:banana::banana:

My excitement levels could barely be higher! It was my birthday 2 days ago and my lovely DH had sent to the USA for a large pin bag/book for me and the kids had bought me a couple of new pins to go in it. I spent yesterday evening transferring all of my pins ready to take.

And now, we are off to the cinema. The boys are going to see The Hobbit movie (pah!) and DD and myself are off to see Frozen.

Happy Days. :santa:

Good news! We watched Frozen before our trip too, really gets you in the Disney mood. Enjoy!
