Just heard Geraldo was expelled from Iraq for giving away crucial information. I don't have the details yet but it seems each of the major news organizations, CNN, MSNBC and now FOX have suffered with reporters who went too far.

Geraldo? No way.
I just cannot take him seriously. Evertime I see him I think about that whole broken nose, talk-show thing.

In a report he did late last night, he was awfully descriptive of the troops whereabouts.

"I just cannot take him seriously.

Ditto. I would have ditto'ed the whole post but I don't remember the broken nose. LOL

jenjie

I believe the broken nose was when he had a Jerry Springer type show years ago. That was before he became a serious journalist:rolleyes:

He also had a show on CNN (I think) where he was pretty liberal. Now that he is working with FOX he sounds more conservative.

Again, another case of ego bringing down a reporter.

Or how about when he opened the EMPTY safe? Oh boy, that was quite an exciting moment in TV.

He's an idiot.

Geez...maybe they should send Maury Povich over there to replace him.

Well, I think the embedded journalists in some ways are more of a hindrance than a help. For example, in this case. Or how about the news today, that Jesse Jackson is going to go to Iraq to try and find the 2 Newsweek journalists that have been missing? I understand that it is distressing, but IMHO, if you are a journalist and taking the risk of going to a war zone, then you are acepting all the risks. Now the Rev. Jackson(what church is he a reverned of, anyhow???) is going to go there with all kinds of hype, put himself in harm's way, put our soldiers in harm's way who will be expected to protect him.

My opinion on non-military people in a war zone...if you go there of your own free will, you're on your own. Accept responsibility for your decisions and actions.

LOL, Mare. I was thinking this: now he can go exploring some caves over there and find some buried treasure. :p

and I was watching part of his report. If he gave away what we were going to do next, he definately should not be there.

I think of the opening of Al Capone's safe. They made an entire hour long drama of it only to find nothing. Nothing pretty much sums up Geraldo for me.

I had forgotten all about the safe, until ya'll mentioned it. Poor, poor, Geraldo just can't get no love...:teeth:

Speaking of which, didn't he write a book about all the women he had "been" with? Bahahaha! :p

WOW, it's a "two-fer". First Baghdad-Pete, and now "Empty Safe" Geraldo. This must be a good omen!

Fox has Geraldo LIVE in Iraq right now.

He says he didn't hear anything about being kicked out. He says CNN is spreading lies and stabbing him in the back!

I'm watching it too. He's doing a satellite phone interview, and he's standing their with the troops from the unit he's embedded with. Doesn't look at all like they're escorting him to the border, as was reported.

Curious!

I just saw him on Fox, and he said it was all lies and he is planning on marching into Baghdad with the 101st.
He said the "other" network was just trying to stir things up.

See what I miss by not watching the 24 hour news channels, LOL?

I would have been surprised if Geraldo had been careless and given away vital information on troop movements. I saw him do a report on Fox from Afghanistan a few days ago and he appeared to have a huge amount of respect and admiration for the military.

Of course, I think he could have taken the high road. About an hour ago in the live report I saw he said that NBC, his former network, was spreading rumors about him.

He may be lots of things, but he's very Patriotic and I feel he would never do anything to hurt our service men and women. He would fight right along side of them if he had to.
