Well we did out finances and figured out that we should go ahead and book Pop Century. Although this is only our second trip, I really wanted to stay at PO-R again because I just love the hotel and I'm a southern belle at heart. Doing this I figured we will save at least $1500,(I know, what's the problem). The problem is that I have heard that the Values can be really busy and noisy and I don't know if I want to deal with that after being in the parks all day. So please tell me this is the way to go and it will be o.k.

all will be ok...don't stress...we're staying @ allstar due to financial constraints also, but we've stayed there before, it's really ok...we actually had more drawer space @ allstar than @ moderates...the food court is reasonable, but if you can't take the crowds, eat elsewhere or in your room...bring some comfort/luxury items from home to make yourself more relaxed, we bring scarves to soften overbed lamps, candles, nice tea & homemade cookies...spend the money you save on a six of coronas & enjoy being on vacation

Think of it this way. How much time will you really be spending in your room? Now think of all the things you can do with the extra cash? Feel better?:bounce:

It should be fine, you'll be at a new resort. It will be clean and adequate. Just think of the money you save.
Avoid the food courts and you won't notice the crowds. We go in September, so the crowds aren't that bad anywhere (it is Disney!!).
My daughter wants to stay at Allstar Movies because of the hugh dalmations...we have been trying to talk her out of it...not this year. So we keep thinking, oh well....we're saving money.

Have you checked out the benefits of purchasing an annual pass for one of you? See mousesavers.com for details. We stayed at a moderate recently for $89/night. Of course, I think the value resorts were even cheaper! You could simply purchase the voucher for one of you, activate it at the park, check in, and save $$$. Will that work for you?

All we've done is value.. and for $49 night, thats a lot of savings...

Its fine.. we are park people so all we do is sleep there... and we are on vacation so it doesnt really matter to us...

The busses were great, in fact Sports was the first stop and then music then movies.. We have always stayed at Sports so it was fine for us...

I've done both the Contemporary and All Star resorts. I enjoy both. We're hoping to stay at CR in November (if our finances allow it). I'm going back with my kids and my parents in May, 2002. Since we'll need two rooms, we've decided to stay at ASMo.

Many people like to stay in the buildings closest to the main building (food court/bus stops). They now charge an extra $10 for the "preferred" buildings. We actually like to be a little further away because it's more quiet. The walk to the main building isn't bad - under 5 minutes.

;) Its really going to be not only ok but just great!Would you rather be sitting at home?I sure wouldn't!If your taking kids theyll love it!The pools are great, and decor is awsome.Theyll also like the arcade.no matter what you think now get ready for a wonderful time!:D

just as everyone has been saying it is only OK not great, or terrific. We stayed at PO, and stayed at ASMU last year, the rooms are smaller, the food court offers more fast food items then meals like PO. At PO the villas are farther apart so it doesn't seem there are as many poeple there. BUT the pools at both resorts seem the same for crowd wise, we stayed close to the entrance at ASMU and liked that. FOR the money ASMU is nice but is definetly not PO.

At All Star Music PLease Advoid the Jazz Building!! They have in the BATHroom, Men all over the Wall Paper??? And one Has a evil eye that watches you do all your business in there!! He made going to the Bathroom a Freaky trip!!   I think he would scare little kids!!

We have stayed at PO and the All Stars. The things I missed from moderate to value are: quiet pools and atmosphere. The All Stars were very nice, clean, good food, excellent bus service but the atmosphere is missing. PO is just so nice at night, peaceful-like. AS was very lit up and not as calm.

However, inside your room you can't hear any outside noise! To save $1500 I'd definitely stay at the values. Keep an eye on mousesavers.com. We were set to stay at AsMo this past April for $99/nt but ended up with PO for $89/nt.

Wherever you stay, remember it's DISNEY!!!!!:earsgirl:

We just got back from WDW and toured all of the resorts. The moderates and deluxes are nicer for sure...but... we had ressies for CBR in Nov and after looking at the resorts we decided the *** will be much more fun! There didnt seem to be huge crowds out and about last week, so Im sure it will be even quieter in the fall :)

I much prefer Allstars over CS even if the cost was the same. However, if cost was the same for Allstars and Dixie, I'd go with Dixie. I really enjoyed Allstars except the one time we were there during Spring Break season. It was horrible then. Between the College spring breakers and the cheerleader competitions, it was absolutely the worst experience I've ever had at WDW. If I ever go again in March or early April, I'm staying at the Poly or GF and hopefully they won't be there (spring breakers and cheerleaders). Allstars tried their darnest to keep things under control but they were just out-numbered.

I agree, there's a lot going on at the AS, but once you shut that door, you can't hear a thing! You can also ask to be placed rather far from a pool. The AS resorts have their quiet little corners too!

All I do in the room is sleep, shower and watch some TV wihle I raise my feet at the end of the day. I am out first thing in the morning and back at night, so I don't need it to be a spectacular resort!

What I mean is this, $1,000 buys a lot of things. Why use it just to pay for a room?

That really isn't true about once you shut the door you don't hear a thing. We had a room facing a wooded area and we had college spring breakers out on the lawn outside our room. They had taken chairs from the pool area (a good distance away) and had them set up and they had a boom box going and they were drinking, smoking (not cigarettes) and yelling, etc. at 1 in the morning. When we called the desk, they sent someone out immediately to break it up and then 30 minutes later the kids were out there again doing the same thing. Then after the resort broke it up 3 times, they all moved in the room next to us and let me tell you - you heard it all. Then at 5 in the morning, the cheerleaders were everywhere practicing cheers, etc. It was not a happy time!

I just want to add my .02. You guys are CRAZY to pay tons of $$$$ to stay at a moderate or
deluxe. AllStar Resorts are just great by me. Compared to outside- it is the BEST!! I wouldn't
be concerned, you are after all in WDW unlike some of us who are at home and work!! Feel
privilidged- They are clean, the kids love them (which is why most of us go to WDW), the
transportation is one of the best at WDW , the food court (even though they do get crowded) have
a large selection of food at reasonable prices, and the CMs have all been great everytime we go.

Also- we sleep and shower in our room that is ALL. We would rather go to BB or TL than stay at ANY resort and use the pools- even though there are some really awesome pools at some of the deluxe resorts.

When you add up the savings and compare the positives and negatives to each other- I would
rather spend the $$ I have saved and do extras you might not normally do.

Once again- just my .02!:jester:
