This makes me mad. I was trying to buy a condo in Massachusetts and I had to walk away on Thursday because the bank was being unreasonable in their demands. I have a lot of student loan debt and being a single woman does not bode well for me (sad how some things don't change). I work 7 days a week at 2 jobs and it makes me so upset hearing how people who bailed on their mortgages are being offered new mortgages and I can't even get one! I have always paid all my bills and been very responsible. I am going to wait a year and try again. Just makes me mad.

I am an accountant I really hope that the people who declare bankruptcy know that they have to pay taxes as if their forgiveness was income.

Not on the foreclosure. The feds passed that through so that the defaulted amount did not have to incur a 1099 if it was for a home mortgage.
