Hi to all!!!

This is a last minute trip for Disneyland!!! We cancelled our Thanksgiving Vacation last year and we decided that with Uncle Sam $$$ we can go during our Spring Break....We are planning to be there from 3/21 to 3/26 but I just figured it out the Cheerleaders will be there during those days??? Any feedback??? or any ideas where will be the best days to visit Disneyland and California Adventure!!!

I am very excited because after looking ang begging we got a standard room at Hojo....(we just cancelled our res for BWPP across the street) hoping we can upgrade at check in....

Thanks in advance!!!!

(I know my son (15) will be happy to see some of those cheerleaders but I am just curious about how crowed it will be?:worship:

It will be crowded because that's spring break for other school districts as well(I know all three districts in our area are off that week also) so I don't know how much more the cheerleaders will add to that. We went once during a cheer thing and they only time we noticed their large numbers was when we were behind them in line and they let other cheerleaders(or cute boys...LOL) cut in line with them.

Hey! We'll be neighbors-- that's our dates too and we're at the HOJO. Firstly, the cheerleaders stay at the doubletree from what I know. Sunday will be the last day of their thing so I'm sure the weekend will be crowded-- but would be crowded anyway. Then, the BIG one starts on the 27th-the day after we leave. I am so glad we're going to be there the weekend though because they are only doing Fantasmic on the weekend. (the schedule is up now) I am really expecting a great trip, no major ride closures except the sunwheel in CA (can't miss what ya never knew) Yeah it's spring break but most of California goes (on spring break) the week before or after Easter which isn't until April 12th this year. Which makes it a great year for us Oregonians to go...I love a crowd anyway and well, the boys can go escape to the room if they need it. I'll miss not having my daughter (she's 20) there but she has a job and no vacation yet and it will be nice having someone to take care of the cats- I have 13 cats so it's a little more effort for a sitter and she needs $ as she is a student also. I do fine though on my own these days- if I want to stay and dink around the park by myself I will be delighted to do so. We haven't been in 10 years so I'll just be happy there's no big refurb's going on. It would have been nice to see the electrical parade though. I'm hoping for great weather too ;-)

What are the dates the cheerleaders will be there? We are going to be there from 17-21 along with quite a few people from my husbands company. I wasn't thinking it was going to be very crowded but now I'm second guessing it.

The weekend including the 21st and the following weekend. Two separate groups.

My sister is going to be there for the second weekend, and HER school is staying at the DLH.

Were going that week too. I'm sure it will be busy but do able. We were there during July 4th and couldn't believe how many people were there. Fast pass, Fast pass, Fast pass and take breaks.

How could somebody with 13 cats possibly be disturbed by hordes of unruly teenage cheerleaders? I'd estimate that 200 teenage girls away from their parents are still better behaved than any three cats...

Well- let us just say I have a long standing dislike of the cheerleader type. That's being gentle. We are more of the Addams family mold. One of the things I am most looking forward to is a visit to Glendale's Forest Lawn cemetery :) As far as cats are concerned-- you must not be a cat owner...Cats are self sufficient, regal, graceful, quiet. OK well-- I have Harvey (named after Jimmy Stewart's big bunny) lol. He is our 9 month old kitten who is absolutely gorgeous and we are all in love with- whose favorite things to do are bite and scratch us, bother all the big cats and jump in your pants when you are on the toilet. (he is getting a little too big for this he is finding lately lol) He was a feral kitten someone found in a field and couldn't take care of so we took him. When we got him I carried him around in my overalls pocket he was so small. We bottle fed him for about 3 weeks around the clock, we are going to miss him terribly on our trip.

We will be there from the 21st until the 28th. Staying at the HOJO also. We went in 2007 this same week with the cheerleaders and we did not ever see any of them. So hopefully it will be the same this time. My son who is 16 would also not mind running in to them.

I figure even if it is really busy it is ok at least I am at disneyland.

Hope you have a wonderfull trip. Jodi

Awww, Harvey sound adorable!!! I have 2 cats, both bottle fed and they are the biggest lovers. :) I'd love to see a pic of Harvey. I'm :rotfl: about him jumping into your pants when your going potty! :rotfl:

Here he is with his 'baby'. Baby was much bigger than him when we got him...he carries his baby to the water bowl, has set him in the litterbox several times and leaves him at the base of the cat tree he likes constantly.

Actually, I have two cats. I was only trying to make a joke, as cats are clearly preferable to cheerleaders running amok. However, I'd have to take issue with your description of cats as "self sufficient" and "quiet." Our cats are quite noisy in the run-up to mealtime (because they can't get the food themselves) or when they want to be let outside (because they can't open the door) or when they want attention (because they can't understand why we might not be willing to drop what we're doing instantly to scratch their ears or whatever).

50sjayne.. what a hilarious pic of the cat in your pants! I had to look at it twice to really see it! :lmao: I have a black kitty, Cricket who could be Harvey's twin! He was a stray and we got him at 6 weeks. He sleeps in bed, right next to me with his head on the pillow, one arm on top of the blanket. His main job is life is keeping the other 2 cats in line, and inspecting ALL food that goes into our mouthes. He hates oranges, banannas and pineapple but absolutely has to smell it each time we eat it.. The he looks at us as if to say "Your going to eat that???" Bless you for taking care of 13.. the most we have had is 9, and once you are past 2 it really dosn't matter does it":hippie: :lovestruc

I am here now (yesterday and today) and it is super crowded. Way more than I ever thought it would be. Just expect it and that way you will not be disappointed if it is. At least you are here for 5 days so you won't have to get everything done in 2.5 days like us!

Thanks for the info!!! We are planning to be there on Saturday afternoon!!!

I know of 2 local groups in our area going during this week...
The bands going and also a production company (singing, dancing etc...) is going this will be a crazy time to go...
I know of at least 15 families going down this week some to cheer on there kids, some going just because for fun...
Be ready for crowds :)

My cats don't really make noise, if they want attention they just jump up on your lap and in your face and purrrrrrrrr like crazy. Mouse (grey tabby) will meow at times tho, when she starts to whine we go see what she's doing because it's usually something bad. LOL

Just got back - Spring Break crowds seemed to set in on Monday (Saturday was slower). With the cheerleaders too - plan on heavy crowds.
