Well after much planning the details have been finalized.

I am taking ds (9) and my neice (3) to the world May 8-13. This is the shortest trip we have had but I figure with having my neice 5 nts will be enough!! Besides with the AP's and my ds being homeschooled we are planning lots of trips this year!!

Once again we will be getting AP's, our flights are booked $110 USD each out of BUF, and after much decision we are staying at POR. No dining plan because I am staying on a discounted rate.

Originally I booked POP, then tried to get POFQ, after weeks of trying we settled on POR. From what I have read I think we will be happy.

Has anyone been to POR and offer any advice/tips especially as far as special requests and room locations it would be appreciated.

We have booked our ADR's and have decided to get my neice all decked out at the bbb boutique downtown.

Nothing to do now but make final payment and wait.

We will be there May 19th to the 27th.

We stayed at POR a few years ago and loved it. The grounds are beautiful. We were far away from the food court area but we had our own vehicle so really didn't mind.

POR aa Dixie is a very large resort and very quiet we found it felt more like a retirement villiage kinda like OKW LOL. It was very beautiful but not our cup of tea we would have prefered POFQ to Dixie or even Coronado which we love and has far better kids amenities around the main pool.

Dan and I are going back May 4-8. We did the same thing last May albeit a bit later in the month and had a great time. It'll be a nice little break after he finishes classes at UWO, before he starts a summer job. He's the only one in my family who still appreciates Disney. ;)

Our first 2 on-site stays were at Dixie Landings, AB side (that's what it will always be to me), first with the family and next just Dh and I. It will always be special to me and I have fond memories of strolling to the food court each morning, along the river. I always make a point of taking the boat ride from DTD for a visit.

After this trip I will have to decide which I like better...if POFQ opens up I will be switching because we already know we love it.

However I am on a mission to stay at as many resorts as possible so this trip may be a good time to start!

Personally, I now prefer the PoR to PoFQ ever since they took out Bon Familles, and got rid of the boat and bike rentals. Without those ammenities, it's as though PoFQ is just a glorfied Value Resort.
