Going back to WDW for Liam's 9th Birthday! 5/29-6/3 WE ARE BACK!!!

Love your shirt, I really need to get over to our Disney Outlet! I bought myself a bunch of new shirts that I put away for the trip but I haven't gotten any new Disney attire yet so I need to do that.

Get thy self the Disney Outlet!!!:lmao:(Ooops, sorry. My ren faire back ground was coming out.:lmao:)
I absolutely love that shirt! Do you mind that I'm jealous? :lmao:

Glad to hear that the fridge fee will be waived! It's so nice to not have to add in extra expenses!!

Grats on 55 days AND the weight loss!! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Of course I don't mind, I have had more than my share of jealousy this last month going over others PTR's.:rotfl2:

I am definalty glad that they are waiving the price of the fridge. It was not an expense I was looking foward to, but since one of Liam's meds need to stay cold there was not getting around it. I'm glad Disney thinks of such things.:thumbsup2

Love your shirt (and the green one you posted before, too) We used to have a Disney Store here... now the closest is an outlet about 2.5 hours away. :sad2:

I am sorry that the closest Disney Store is so far away. I don't know what I would do if I didn't have the outlet near me. I also just found the bag on ebay if you are intrested I can PM you the details.:)

You two are going to be styling is Disney world.:banana::banana:

Thank you.

Congrats, Corrine, on shorts that don't fit! :cheer2: You've been doing a great job on your weight loss! I'm glad to hear the fee got waived for the fridge :thumbsup2 I also REALLY like that shirt and the loot you got for the goody bag and the Easter baskets. You've been racking up some nice stuff

Thanks Erin, I am definalty excited about the weight loss (I'm sorry, weight release) I just hope I can keep it up after Disney. I guess I will just have to use my next trip for motivation!:lmao: I am very glad about the fridge!:thumbsup2 I can't wait to post pics of there Easter baskets put together and their faces when they see them.:cloud9:

Sounds good! I imagined a way more complicated scenario, but you've obviously got it a lot more under control than I would have :rotfl:

I'm so loving your new purchases! That shirt is great :lovestruc Congratulations on the weight loss, as well!

:cool1:Super excited that NEXT month we will be in WDW!:cool1:

Thanks Brit, I can't wait till next month!!!:cool1::cool1:

I am trying to keep our first day low key beause we have to wake up early and I know we will be tierd. (really how much sleep am I going to get the night before Disney) We have to leave by 5am to get to the airport and I am going to have Liam do his full nebulizer treatments in the morning because he will not have time to do do it that night with EMH. I also need to make some time on that first day to go to Guest Relations to get his b-day button and GAC card.:)

Your new shirt is super cute! I love all the goodies for the Easter baskets (and the fuzzy socks!)

Congratulations on more weight loss :woohoo:

Thanks blairbear, I love my fuzzy socks.:cloud9:

I just read this on Disney's website. Phineas and Ferb are making an appearance at DHS
http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/bl...ke-center-stage-at-disneys-hollywood-studios/

I showed this to Liam and his is super excited. We even have some Phineas and Ferb pages in his autograph book.:thumbsup2

WOW! :thumbsup2 What a find with that shirt! I need to get over to the Disney Store and take a look. I also love the goodies for the Easter baskets.
I think you will be very happy with your upgrade on your DP. That reminds me I need to change that T-Rex ressie...... you wouldn't happen to have T-Rex's number handy, would you?? :lmao:

I LOVE the Disney Store (FYI the shirts were bought at an outlet and is In the Disneyland Clerence section. The Disney Store does not carry them) I can't wait to see the kids open their easter baskets.:thumbsup2
I am so glad I upgraded the DP. I am definalty much happier. Only one thing would make me happier at this time and that is to change CP from Dinner to breakfast. I would really like to do one breakfast and the thought of getting into an emptly MK makes me smile.:) I sent you a PM with the number to T-Rex.:thumbsup2

I didn't get on the computer much yesterday because I was at Liam's doctors appointment all day. And I really mean all day. We got there about 9am and was able to leave at about 3pm.

I guess this would be the time to tell you all a little more about my traveling companion. I know I have already told you a little about him, but I though I would take this time to tell you some more. A lot of this is about his medical problems, so if you just want to skip this post I understand.

Liam was about 5 years old when he started getting these frequent coughing fits. They seemed to come and go with no reason and got at it's worse at night before bed and when he was sleeping. This meant a lot of sleepless nights for both of us. I would take him to the doctor, but was told that is was just a cold and he would get over it.

Fast foward to about a year later. I had taken his sister to the doctor for what was diagnosed as croup. Another doctor had mention that she thought it might be croup becaue she could hear the coughing from another room. The problem was that it was Liam coughing and not Mia.

So I take Liam back to the doctor, and this time we are told that he has croup like his sister. They give us a perscription for an inhaler and we go on our way. It helps the coughing fit, but he is still coughin. Wr head back to the doctor and are now told that he has a lung infection and give us antibiotic. Once again the medication helps but does not solve the problem.

Once again I take Liam to the doctor but this time I have done some reserch on the computer for causes of chronic coughing. This is where I found out but Cystic Fibrosis. As I read the symptoms I because convinced that I had solved the problem. I asked the doctor if we could get a test for CF and he basically told me that I was crazy. "I know kids with CF, I have diagnosed kids with CF, your son doesn't have CF." I thanked him for the opinion and asked to have the test anyway. After mumbling about being a waste of medical resorces and buying him a drink when it came up negative, he wrote out the order for a sweat test.

Now if any one has seen Nurse Jackie last year and the episode where she wraps towels around a boy to do a sweat test, this isn't the way it is done at all. They put two round disks on the arm and hook it up to a small machine. This gets the skin to sweat. They then strap on a round plastic circle that has a smaal tube coiled in it starting in the center. The tube collects the swear and has a blue dye so you can see how much sweat there is. They then test the sweat for it's salt chloride level. If this level is high, then you probably CF.

Unfortunatly it wasn't so clear for us. Our first 2 tests were inconclusive and they finally did a blood test. When that came back it came back that he had 2 mutations for CF. But the doctor continued to say He didn't have it. I once again thanked his for his opinion and asked for a second one. He refered me to a polmonologist and sent me on my way. When I called the polmonologist they directed me to a Genetisist. So I made an appointment there and was happy when I went that someone was finally listening to me. They got me in touch with his current doctor who we meet with the next day. All Dr. B needed to do was look at the paper listing both of Liam's mutations to confirm that Liam did have CF. This whole process took 4 months.

Liam is a very social boy and the diagnosis of a life threatning disease has done little to dampen his spirits. He continues to be a joy to be around, and though he hates all the treatment he has to do every day, he deals with a smile on his face and is a true insperation to me.

Good for you for being so persistent! A mother knows when something is going on with their child's health and it is so frustrating to see some doctors act so dismissive. They may have the medical degree, but parents have the gut instincts about their kids. Thank goodness not all doctors are like that and thank goodness you were able to get a proper diagnosis for Liam! It sounds like he is a wonderful child with a great attitude - and he's a cutie pie too! :)

I'm sorry to hear that the original doctor was so unwilling to assist your concerns. :sad1: I'm proud that you stuck to your guns and pressed on for the testing that needed to be done and didn't back down, but insisted on referrals and 2nd opinions! YOU GO GIRL! :thumbsup2 (We still say that, right? :confused3)

I appreciate you taking the time to share the story. I know its rough having a chronic cough in the house. I've done breathing treatments at 2am before with a child who was sleeping (and coughing in her sleep). It's no fun for anyone.

I hope his appointment yesterday went well.

Tink-erin-belle took the words right outta my mouth.

Thankyou both for your kind words:hug: I wasn't sure at first if I should post it, but you both have put me in ease for doing it.

I know what you mean about waking in the middle of the night. Liam had to do two breathing treatment in the middle of the night last week. The doctor put him on a diffrent antibiotic on thursday but it still has not gone away, maybe just a little better. They told me to complete the antibiotics (2 week course) and if he still hasn't gotten better we will try something else. Just a little worried because his lung functions have not gone up since last month.

His doctor appointment is actually for a new drug they are trying to get approved. He actually ended Phase 2 trials yesterday and rolled over to Phase 3, which means he is deffinatly getting the drugh.:yay: This new drug shows alot of great promise for CF patients.

Good for you for pushing that doctor! We will be praying that the new drug has remarkable results for Liam too.

Thank you for sharing your story (or should I say Liam's)
I hate when dr's don't listen to parents. We know when something is NOT right with our children. Mommy gut is there for a reason. I wish more dr's would listen to it.

 Thanks so much for taking the time to share your story. I know a lot of us are moms on these boards and have compassion for a mother about her child.
Kudos for you to get to the bottom of his chronic cough. Both of my kids had the sweat test done, as well, before they were diagnosed with asthma.
My DD had pneumonia 4x in kindergarten and diagnosed with asthma and also had whooping cough in 1st grade. We dealt with some stressful times through that period, I can only imagine what you are going thru with a child with such a serious illness. Another hug for you! and one for Liam...

Thanks again, for helping out with my T-Rex ressies!!! The time is now much better. :cool1:

So I want to begin by saying that there are 3 elementry schools in my district and the following news report in not the one that my kids go to. Still it very scary and I can't believe this goes on.

Round Lake Beach teacher charged with sex abuse
By Andrew L. Wang | Tribune reporter
April 05, 2011
(Round Lake Beach police)A third-grade teacher at a Round Lake Beach elementary school has been arrested and charged with sexually abusing four children, police said.

Manuel Reyes, 55, was arrested in Kenosha Saturday on a warrant Lake County authorities issued last week, said Round Lake Beach Deputy Police Chief Rich Chiarello. The warrant charged him with six counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

Police say Reyes, a teacher at Ellis Elementary School in Round Lake Beach and a resident of Kenosha, abused the children, all of whom were under 13 when the alleged incidents took place, from Aug. 18, 2010 to March 23, 2011.

Chiarello declined to specify if the alleged victims were students of Reyes' or other children. Police started investigating the teacher after a parent reported the abuse to them.

Round Lake Area Schools District 116 Supt. Constance Collins said Reyes has been put on paid leave pending the outcome of the police investigation. The district was notified of the charges against Reyes on Monday and immediately put out an automated phone message to inform parents, she said. Officials will also send a letter to parents explaining the situation

I did recieve a phone call on monday evening while I was on my walk. I also recieved a letter in both of my kids back packs yesterday.

This is absolutely sickening! A teacher taking advantage of his students is horrible and I hope he pays for what he has done. It is very disheartening to think that children aren't even safe at school anymore. So glad your kiddos weren't involved in this. What has this world come to??? :sad1:

Wow! Just... WOW! It's scary to know that predators even make it into the school systems. My heart goes out to those poor kids.

I agree with the other posters, good for you for being persisitant in getting Liam's diagnosis. We've had issues with doctors concerning Ben so I know your frustrations. Crossing fingers here that he gets that he has great results with the new drug!

Concerning that school, it's just disgusting. We had a similar issue here last year but it was at my kids school. A father that regularally volunteered at the school was charged with molesting his young daughter and her 2 friends. It made us all grab a tight lead on children.

I was very upset when I recieved this news. I just can't believe that anyone could do this to children. It is also so scary that it is so close to home. If we live on just about two blocks to the north Liam would have been going to that school. My thoughts and prayers go to the victims of this crime and hopes that he is punished for his crimes if he is guilty.

OK, enough of this depressing stuff, some happier news in the next post.:woohoo:

So my great news is.

:dancer:party:party:party::dancer:

This is the second time I have paid of this trip
So hopefully it sticks this time
:confused3:confused::confused3:confused::confused3

I actually paid off the trip back at the end of February
But than I found a prefered room opened up for Pop
I booked that so I owed more for the prefered room
And than I upgraded from QSDP to DDP
So I owed more money for that
So that makes it twice paid off.:rotfl2:
And since the total is due next thursday it will stay there.
:rainbow::rainbow::rainbow::rainbow::rainbow:

So now my Disney Package is paid for
My plane tickets are paid for
I bought a box full of snacks/breakfast food for parks
Now I just need to buy the photopass
And put some money aside for extras in the park
It now seems so real.
We're going to Walt Disney World!!!!
