Okay, so we finally did it, we booked our package:banana:

We fly out with Virgin on Dec 29th and we are staying at POFQ for 14 nights AND we have booked Deluxe Disney Dining:cloud9:

I am so excited:banana:

It will just be my husband and I this time (we got married at WDW last August) and I think I am more excited this time round (if that's possible)

So, we have never been at New Years and I wondered if any of you wish to share your experiences of going at this time. I mean I have no idea where we should spend New years Eve! Any suggestions?

Epcot is our vote, great atmosphere, large park to absorb the crowdsa dn you get to celebrate NYE around the world!! If you do decide on any park/resort restaurant make your dining reservation at the 180 day mark sharp!

Claire ;)

Another vote for Epcot. We got there for 9am and stayed until after midnight. It really didn't feel like we had been in there all that time though and lots of different little things going on.

We fly on the same day BA from Manchester. staying 3 days at Homewood suites, then villa at Highlands reserve, might do 5 night Carnival cruise from Tampa.
a couple of years ago we were there over new year and we went to universal islands of adventure and City walk, so would recommend that for New Years eve, mind you we like to have a drink so that is why we chose that location.

We have done 4 New Years Eve's, all 4 in EPCOT, we say every Xmas trip we should try somewhere different but we love it there, Have to be in "England" for 7pm (12 midnight at home) great atmosphere, then watch early fireworks, out for a bite to eat then to DTD for midnight fireworks.
EPCOT usually fills to capacity, even for onsite guests I believe so if you are going there get in early. No doubt we will be there again this NYE.:goodvibes

Hi Summer, well I can't believe it was last August we were all out in the sunshine having fun and of course you getting married.
Anyway looks like we will be out there again the same time as you.
We will be flying on Christmas day with hubbie and girls plus my parents brother.
We will be staying at the same villa we spent some time last year as it made sense being so many of us.
Anyway look forward to shareing some trip planning and ideas with you take care Cornish Pixie xx:goodvibes

great new that your going 'home' Summer :)
still checking out your TR from your wedding - cant wait to hear the rest :)

Hiya we are arriving on new years day cant wait

hoping places are open so we can get food etc in

So jealous!!!

We're still (not so) patiently waiting for October 2009 to come round......

it is my dream to be in disney for NYE!! :cloud9:

it's a shame it's sooo expensive, even for a DVC'er like me but hopefully one day i will make it... NYE is my fav day of the year... would have loved to get married on that date but again way to expensive.

I got goosebumps when someone mentioned about seeing the new year in around the worlds... and being in the UK for 7pm :goodvibes how sweet!

Whatever you do i bet you have a better time than me :lmao:

If you can travel in school term then yes its a bit more expensive but its no dearer than any other school hol. We fly Xmas day with Virgin for 9 nights in Fairfield Inn, cost us £580 each, dont think thats too bad for Virgin Holidays. We could have added more days on for next to nothing but have to be back for school.

BA was £420 on 29th from Manchester. we have to take a short flight to Gatwick but that is ok. Our son is now joining us, flying with Travel city direct on New Years day, we have added him to a friends booking, flight only £292.

We were in WDW for New Year last year and it was incredible.

We spent New Years Eve at the Saratoga Springs party and it was wonderful. The parks were full to busting (in fact you couldn't get into MK after lunch time) and I'm glad we did this.

At midnight, we sat on the river embankment and watched the Pleasure Island fireworks. It was truly magical.

Have a great trip. I'm very envious!
