Going back for my birthday... how is it in mid-February?

I've been wanting to go back to Universal Orlando since my first trip in 2010. I've decided to go back for my 30th birthday next year; I've been holding onto my 2-day and 4-day PTP tickets for several years now. I just purchased my airline reservations last night.

How is the park and weather in mid-February? I heard it can be chilly but also still be in the 70s in the same week down there.

It can be freezing. It can be hot.

Bring your thermals and your shorts. Wool hats and flip flops. Gloves and swimsuits.

And go prepared for it to be 40 degrees one day and 80 the next. And vice versa.

Watch the 10 day forecasts. That will give you a general idea.

We've had sleeveless shirt vacations and winter jacket vacations at that time.

There are some parts of feb that being in crowds

Valentine's Day, president holiday which means a 3 day weekend and Mardi Gras weekends

Weather can be a horror miss
Just dress for it and you will be fine

Ah, the old long term forecast. Destroyed us on our first Orlando trip in early December 2010. Nothing seemed bad ahead of time. Everything was fine the first 4 or 5 days and then it fell apart and started to change. And our winter clothes were at home in WA. (DH is rather plus sized and I was at the time, and buying clothing for us was an expensive proposition AND we were budgeted to the bone so a whole new wardrobe could not happen)

Flight of the Hippogriff during early entrance at 28 degrees when you have NO winter clothing! Woo! Funny how (relatively) quickly those ridiculously priced $35 Hogwarts house scarves became a great bargain! All it took was riding 14 times in a row. I might still be thawing out. :)

If you're from the frozen north anything above 50 degrees will feel downright tropical. You can spot us, the ones in shorts and a hoodie, determined to be warm in Florida!

We leave the winter coats in the car pre flight and layer with base shell. Naturally, once the sun dips, it can get bit chilly but park hours are shorter.

The hot tub is your friend, but the pools are typically very-well heated

Crowds on the holidays but hasn't seemed what I'd call 'summer crowded' other than President's day & Daytona 500 (end of month). Hope our experience holds as we'll be there same time, our first-time staying offsite with no EP

I'm from the Raleigh/Durham area in North Carolina. Snow and ice tends to pop up around my birthday, and I'm hoping it'll hold off until I get back or after I land at MCO.
