I have been to DLP twice before but a long, long time ago (5 years - how can that be???). I am hoping to book again and have some questions if you good people would be so kind to answer...

I am looking to go end of May/ beginning of June next year - I work in a school and can only go in school holidays (boo). Can anyone tell me how busy it can be around this time?

My daughter will be 11 - are there likely to be any offers on for her around this time? I will probably book early - I know it's sometimes best to wait for offers, but I will need to book my flight as early as possible to get the cheapest deal (from Manchester UK).

I am thinking about staying in the Sequoia Lodge - anyone stayed here willing to give me a quick review of the place?

Is it easy to get the TGV train from CDG to DLP?

Final question (for now) - is there anything to do with Frozen at DLP as my daughter is obsessed with it!!

Thank you so much. :)

I haven't been during May half term so can't help you there, but there are usually good early booking offers. This year it was 2 days 2 nights free for summer and I think that offer came out around Christmas time. We use RS transport shared shuttle from CDG which is very reasonable (We have never actually shared) they get you to DLP in about half an hour. We stayed at SL in August in Yellowstone Lodge which was great, close to main building and swimming pool and quick walk to the parks. Happy planning :thumbsup2

We stayed in golden forest room in sequoia lodge last week, I'm not convinced it was worth the money for upgrade. The hotel was nice enough, but only one lift to restaurants which was mental at times with buggy queues! But you shouldn't have that issue!

Thanks - have got a price for February half term 2015 - £700 Cheyenne or £850 Sequoia (lodge). Do these sound good for 2 adults and 1 11 year old?

Can't price up May/June yet to compare. Unfortunately there are no flight schedules up for Feb yet (apart from Air France which would cost £417) so really difficult to know what to do.

Do you think Sequoia is worth the extra money over the Cheyenne? (Have stayed in the Cheyenne before and was happy with it).

Cheers.

I stayed in both Cheyenne and Sequoia Lodge last year.

I wasn't impressed with the Cheyenne (felt the rooms were a bit dated and actually felt like they were 20 years old and in need of a refurbishment), although I agree that the buildings look really nice.

I absolutely loved the Sequoia Lodge, it was newly refurbished and the room we had (in a lodge - think was Yellowstone as well, was the closest to main building and parks) was really comfortable. Breakfast was great too and so was the buffet dinner.

Not sure how many days your price is but I would definitely pay more for Sequoia Lodge than the Cheyenne!

The 2 nights with 2 nights free offer is great and was what we got for the Sequoia Lodge last year, otherwise there are sometimes some good prices on Expedia (got the Cheyenne for just under £70/night last March without park tickets)...

I think I have seen under 12s stay and play free (meaning the hotel & park tickets are free) before?

I've stayed here twice and I really like it. It has a great but not overly 'Disney' atmosphere, spacious rooms, nice breakfast...I could go on!

I don't know but most people on the disboards tend to use a private shuttle company? Sorry I don't know any more about it but everyone seems to say it's a really good option.

Reading that through it doesn't seem like much help but hopefully the SL bit is useful!

We visited 3 1/2 years ago and stayed at the Sequoia Lodge. We took the TGV there. We really liked the SL, and stayed in a Montana lakeview room. The room was comfortable, and the continental breakfast was standard. We had a very good meal in one of the buffet restaurants. I agree with the comment about the elevator down to the restaurants. Luckily we hadn't brought a buggy with us! I'd be happy to stay here again some other time.

The TGV was fast and easy. We had booked a train departing one hour after we landed, and this wasn't a problem. We had taken the VEA shuttle the trip before, and the TGV was a much better option. If I remember correctly you can only buy tickets 90 days in advance. We'll probably take the TGV when we go in October.

These prices are for 5 nights February half term - sorry, I forgot to say!

There's often 'under 12s stay and play free' offers. It ONLY ever for winter months. So it will probably make February more affordable! And it should be quieter!

Can I ask why you're not looking at the Santa Fe?

I stayed in both last half term. We got a room at the Cheyenne for £40 a night, and for that price, we LOVED it. My Pirate had never stayed in there before we added this on before the Sequoia. We found that playing with the dates gave us more time for less money for the latter hotel - we originally looked Monday to Friday and it was £770. When we looked from the previous Thursday to Thursday, we got it for over £250 LESS. I'd have happily lost one day if the school didn't give us permission to go, but they did so we added more on via the Cheyenne :) This was for one person as we have AP's and it cost €23 to add the others on at checking it.
So, play with the dates. It might be cheaper for a Friday check in (was dearer for us but still cheaper than a Monday check in) though you would miss park time. This could give you the option of extending your stay for longer though??

Have stayed in the Santa Fe, but didn't enjoy the atmosphere and overall theme as I did with the Cheyenne.

Fair enough! It's recently been refurbished though, whereas the Cheyenne (which I agree has a better theme!) is looking a bit tatty and in need of some attention. So that's why I thought I'd be cheeky and ask!

If you shop around you can often find the under 12s offer throughout the year, even during high season. For example, the current offer on the French site has this plus one day/night free for arrivals up until 12th November :thumbsup2

Thanks - I'll keep my eyes open. Swaying towards going May half term I think. Anyone know when those prices might be released?

under-12s free for May is a current offer on the French version of the DLP site, so yes, it can happen. Even if it doesn't and you'd prefer to go in May, you can always just book one of you adults in on the 2-nights free offer, then add your other adult and your daughter to the room when you arrive, then buy annual passes for them to use as park tickets and for discounts while you are there. Have a look at the annual pass sticky for more information :).

yes - but it might be cheaper and will certainly be faster (CDG to DLP) to book a shared shuttle in advance with rstransports.

Thank you so much. :)

Anna and Elsa are still in the Magic On Parade every day in the main park, but no meet n greets etc.
