Going All Quick Service!

Yeah, I've crunched some numbers and think we'll come out at least even if not ahead. Pepper Market is going to be our home food court and it's got a lot of options, some of which are kind of pricey for QS.
Regardless, knowing we have paid for all of our food prior to getting there will make it a more relaxing vacation for us. No need to worry about spending too much and needing to be frugal when it comes to eating. It'll be nice. And compared to what we would have been paying for just a handful of TS meals plus QS to fill in the gaps...we're saving SO MUCH MONEY! That makes for a more enjoyable vacation too!

Check out CBR - the same food but $1-$2 cheaper and it's nice to eat outside. The overhead wires keeps the birds from swooping down (the Wilderness Lodge was like an Alfred Hitchcock movie)

Captain Cook's at the Poly was a great QS in our opinion. Maybe there or Contempo Cafe would be a good stop during the day or after the parks.

We also really like the nachos at La Cantina in Mexico!

Your three choices are good! At MK we liked Cosmic Ray's. e've eaten at Pizza Planet at DHS on every trip. We enjoy it, though it gets lots of bad reviews here.

We like Pizza Planet too! Their cupcakes are pretty good too

We have the QS last March and it was really great! I did some research to find the best places. We have not been disappointed. Here are our picks: The Express at Wolfgang Puck Grand Cafe, Wolfgang Puck Express at Marketplace, Boardwalk Bakery, Be Our Guest, Capt. Cook's, Contempo Cafe, Flame Tree BBQ, Fairfax Fare and Pepper Market.

In a surprising turn of events, after months of ADR tweaking, we've decided to kick the ADRs to the curb, added the QSDP to our package, and are going straight Quick Service! We've got breakfast covered thanks to being Business Class at CSR, so our two QS credits will go to lunch and dinner.

I'm interested in people's opinions on the best QS places to get our money's worth from the QSDP. I already have a BOG lunch reservation, and obviously the Pepper Market will come into play. I also have these in mind:
  • Sunshine Seasons
  • Flame Tree BBQ
  • Wolfgang Puck Express (bacon-wrapped meatloaf!!)
Anywhere else that would be good? Especially Epcot and HS?

We just got back from WDW today, and like you, we did not do the dining plan this time. We had a few reservations only. BOG was one of them, and I would totally do it again. Excellent food, we had the braised pork with bacon, mashed potatoes, mixed veggies, cupcake with gray stuff. The castle is an attraction in itself, and the staff were all in character. It was an unexpected treat:) We also did Kona, and lunch was very good. The oriental noodles are wonderful! My husband and I got tired of all the planning of adr's on our last trip, so this trip was very different in that 98 percent of our food was QS. We ate when we were really hungry, ate where we wanted to, and paid much less for our meals. We came out ahead. I won't ever go back to the dining plan (basic). I loved being spontaneous and not tied down.
We ate at Columbia harbor house (great food), flame tree BBQ (a favorite), yak and yeti anapura food cart for their wonderful honey chicken at AK, the commissary at HS(just okay food), The Mill at POR (many times). Can't remember more at the present time. I hope you like it as much as us. Oh, another favorite is Earl of Sandwich at DS!

Love reading these suggestions and good experiences with going all or mainly quick service! It's made planning so much easier. Now the parks, attractions, and entertainment are the center of the trip, and where we eat fits in around those things. With free continental breakfast every morning and so many places to use QS and snack credits, including the Outdoor Kitchen kiosks at Flower and Garden, it seems like we'll eat pretty well!

My favorites have already been mentioned but I'll add my vote for tangerine cafe and the fish and chips. Also Columbia Harbour House at mk. I'm planning on trying the Harambe market this year as well.
