Going Adults Only - Advice

Hi,

Going to WDW with my Wife and another couple and no kids.

Both couples go down very regularly with kids --- but what would you all recommend for our trip. I keep finding myself thinking like we have kids.

yes i wouldn't mind some advice as i havent been since i was 13 and my wife has never been.

depends upon you - I happen to love Epcot - most kids (until Mission:space and test track) thought it was boring.....

I love it!

now if I could only learn to speak - Spanish, French, Norweign, etc....

but i have a language problem - can hardly speak (and write) English.

do you do the Roller coasters with your kids? then this is a great time to hit the RR.

some of the shows (that kids think are boring) at MK, Epcot, Studios, AK....

just do the things and places that you have NEVER done with your children.

also if you drink - remember the drinks around the world - go find the post on the theme park....

you get on the monrail and have a drink at each hotel....

you can also enjoy the night life - both PI at DD, and BW!!!!

Me and my DH always go to Disney solo - we're 45 and 33. We spend plenty of time riding the rides and seeing the shows. I even stand in line for character greetings. On a purely adult level our favorite thing to do is spend time in the clubs at PI, mostly 8Traxx. At home we're not the clubbing type so when we're at Disney it feels great to party a little bit. Other suggestions:

La Nouba - a must see!!
Eating - plenty of wonderful restaurants at Disney.
Shopping - need I say more?
Recreation - watercraft, bikes, fishing, parasailing.

Take out your park maps and look them over for things that you normally skip because of the kids - then do them.

Look at the menus on AllEarsNet and pick restaurants that look good but you would normally skip because of the kids. Eat there.

Look at the resorts. Do you normally stay at All-Star Movies because the kids love it? Or at a monorail resort because your kids cause you to spend 3 times as many days in MK as you do in the other parks combined? Stay at AKL (Or All-Star Music, if you're on a budget). Or stay club-level at Dolphin and spend more time in Epcot.

Enjoy the night life at Pleasure Island or Jellyrolls.

Rent a car and drive off site to shop the outlets and flea markets.

Try Capones or Arabian Nights.

Go to Universal for a day or two. Enjoy the thrill rides and the shows.

Take a day and drive out to the Space Coast for the tour of KSC.

Just think about all the things you normally DON'T do because the kids wouldn't like them, and try those things out.

How about treating yourselves to a massage? Or an evening on the boardwalk, even a stroll on the boardwalk and people watch, thats something my kids never let us do.

We like to play at disney Quest!! Ofcourse this is after we hit the food and wine festival, so its lots of fun

I definitely agree with the idea of doing a tour. Or just wander around Epcot WS, going from country to country in all the shops. DH and I love to do that-and lots of times we remark how "Remember when the kids were little and we'd have to rush throuhg this shop saying 'Don't touch anything!'" Also, the kids were such picky eaters by comparison, and we love the fact that we can try the ethnic foods, especially in Morocco.

Gosh ... all such excellent ideas. We were all sitting around talking about this last Sunday.

I vote to do the exact same thing I do with my wife when with the Kids -- stay at the parks all day long!

I love the parks.

We are doing the Segway tour and Hoop dee doo as well as the Fantasmic Package.

But I think I might just spend my mornings drinking my coffee and walking the Boardwalk, Beach Club, Yaught Club ---- instead of wrestling with getting the kids ready. The massage is a great idea and we may send the ladies to do this ... while my buddy and I hit the parks.

I have never been to Pleasure Island or any other adult type place at WDW for that matter ... so this will be a lot of fun.

I am so excited for this trip.

My friends and I had the best time starting at Kimonas for cocktails and karaoke in the Swan and walking from there to Jelly Rolls. So much fun. Even though we were staying at Saratoga Springs, and it was technically past Disney transportation hours when we finally got out of Jelly Rolls, a bus driver picked us up at the Boardwalk and brought us directly to Saratoga. We didn't even have to call a cab!

Hubby and I are going down February 20. Havent been there in 11 years and that was with kids. So what is Jelly Rolls? What is LaNouba? and if we brought the 5 day magic pass does that include several nights at pleasure island? Is everything at PI included in this pass? Last time we were at PI(6 years ago while vising Universal) we didn't pay extra for anything (I think) thanks......
