Going ADRless..advice?

Are you staying on site? We love the food court breakfasts at all the value and mod resorts...dinner at those places is very good too. There are a lot of option besides chicken and burgers at Epcot, MK and DTD....some of our favorite meals are at CS places.

Last year we went in June and got quite a few table service meals just by walking up and asking. Quite a few of them were at Downtown, but we're seated at the Plaza and Mama Melrose's really quickly without reservations. It was just me and my bf so we didn't really want to plan anything, like people have said above, its nice to have a freedom to do what you want, when you want. We also found that during peak eating hours you can sometimes queue at CS kiosks waiting to be served for up to 20 mins! As long as it can take to be seated at TS. Crazy!

We just got back and had only made one ADR...for a Norway princess lunch... We got tired of the CS meals by Day2 , but we had no problem finding a few other dining options... We walked into a great Pizza/Pasta sit down place in DTD.... then while waiting to get on the Dumbo ride with my 2 and 4 y.o., my Dad ran over to get a fastpass for Jungle Cruise, popped his head into Liberty Tree Tavern and asked if we could make lunch ressies....it was easy and they were so nice when my 4 year old started crying because her mac n'cheese tasted "funny"...They brought her something else no charge....
THen we ate at the restaurant at our resort (POR) ...everything else was counter service...

If I could offer just a bit of advice...

DO book at least one character meal. They are worth the money and the experience with characters is so memorable.

DO eat at off-peak times. We had a successful Xmas week trip in 2006 because we were willing to eat lunch at 10:30am (NO lines! Fresh food!) and dinner between 4 and 5pm. No need to hover like a vulture around other diners trying to snag a table.
