GOH badges

My friend is coming into town next month, and I want to get her daughter a GOH badge. What kind of badges do they have (characters)? Should I trust getting one online, or should I get at DTD or in the park?

Also, earstothemouse.com has the Princess GOH badges, very cute. I've ordered them from both places and had no problem.

the 5 & 10 in the Studios! In the back of the shop, there is a whole area where you can get different things personalized (t-shirts, towels, etc.) They also had GOH badges and a bunch of different "pins" that you can have a name engraved on.

a badge with the child/adults name on it is considered a GOH badge...originally they were red ...now there are many kinds, princess, tink, villians and even one for the 50th celebration...it is a cute way to "announce" yourself and the CM's will often call the kids by name which makes them feel special

we got the princess ones for our upcoming surprise trip

don't necessarily expect CM's to use the names, though. In our 7 days, we had the kids names used 2X TOTAL. Once, getting character autographs, one of the Pooh characters personalized the kids' autographs by reading their name tags. And our waitress at Whispering Canyon Cafe used my son's name when announcing that he needed crayons. Other than that, nobody. Didn't bother me, though, my kids thought it was funny having name tags with their favorite characters on them.

There are also nice new 50th anniversary ones just out; not sure if the online stores have them shown yet, but they are at the resort now. (Gotta get those, and my gold Mickey ears!)

Where in WDW can you get these badges? And how much does it cost in the park vs. on-line?
