All hail the King! Wow! This is the Godzilla movie I have been waiting for since I was a kid, glued to "Godzilla week" every day after school and the man-in-a-rubber-suit Godzilla movies I loved so much as a kid. No spoilers. Just total nerd love. I think I may have loved it more than Infinity War. It just made me so happy LOL! Anyone else watch?

I would like to! Sadly, my kid has no interest :guilty: I guess you like it a lot more than the more recent Godzillas?

I liked the 2014 Godzilla...juts wished there was some Godzilla in it LOL. Seriously he was in like 7 minutes of the movie. But what there was of him was great...but THIS movie. This was EVERYTHING.

I will be seeing it this upcoming Friday and cannot wait! I can’t wait to see Mothra, too!

A little OT but I am bummed that they want to make a Godzilla vs. King Kong movie instead of a Godzilla vs. Pacific Rim/Kaiju movie :-/

Pac Rim and Godzilla are different universes. It would be like wanting a Star Wars v. Star Trek movie or Superman v. The Hulk (cool as it may be). Godzilla v. Kong is cannon. And I can't wait for that one. Kong doesn't stand a chance! An opinion that has sparked many fiery family debates LOL.

Hey now, a girl can dream lol

ETA: I personally think Godzilla and Kong will start off fighting each other and then have to team up to fight something else.

I agree and have many thoughts about what they may have to team up for...squeeeee!!

I've been waiting for this thread!!! We saw it on Friday. Wow is right. I loved it. My 23 yr old dd has been a Godzilla fan since she was 3. He has been her best friend her whole life. Literally! She slept with a hard plastic toy for years! She actually cried in the movie :) She has been non-stop talking about it all weekend and trying to figure out how we are going to get Godzilla v Kong to work after analyzing the movie :) Annnnd, we are going to see it again today :)

Do we have the same family? We have those debates too:) I am a Kong fan and would love to see him win but, really, does he stand a chance? My vote is for Mecha-Gidora to show up and they have to band together and be allies to beat him :)

We're going to see the movie at the drive-in. After all, you HAVE to see Godzilla outdoors on the really big screen!

My wife likes to say, "Godzilla" in that super fast, Asian manner (almost like a sneeze). And I drive her nuts by continually saying, "Let...them...fight." Lol

No one wants to go with me either, so I am going by myself! I loved the 2014, I own it, and I am super excited for this one. I full expect it to be ridiculous, but I don't care LOL!

I took my teens to see it this past weekend and we all loved it! I was lost a bit in the beginning thinking when they were talking about Monster Zero they were referring to Godzilla. My kids just rolled their eyes at my confusion! We thought the story was very good and also the effects.
Our only issue.. The theater was near empty, but a family with like 5 kids bought the seats next to us. The dad was sitting next to my daughter bouncing a baby on his knee. The baby wasn't screaming but the dad was talking to her in full voice and she was obviously making sounds and also staring at us as we ate our popcorn (LOL!). I finally just got permission to move our seats as the theater was so empty. I thought the movie was pretty violent for a baby, people getting machine gunned down and dinosaurs tearing at each other.

I took my ten year old DS to see this yesterday, we enjoyed it. I heard that there was too much monsters, and not enough people, but I felt it could have had more monsters in it.

Just got back from seeing it again! Still love it!!!! I noticed quite a few things I missed the first time around. I wouldn't mind going to see it again :) And the music was fantastic.

The Japanese people have contributed so many things the world, making movies isnt one of them

We almost went to see it in a drive-in but it's a couple of hours away and didn't want to spring for a hotel but I know it would have been the best way to see it!

I was expecting more monsters too!

My son (7) is SO EXCITED about this movie. We saw the preview when we went to see Endgame and it was all he talked about after the movie. I'm guessing if he was OK with the Avengers movies Godzilla won't be worse/too scary for him (I told him if it was rated PG-13 or less I'd let him see it).

On another note: growing up I remember watching the old Godzilla movies with my dad. I am pretty excited to see this one! I wish my parents lived closer so my son could watch it with my dad.
