I love good chocolate. My kids got me a box of godiva for Christmas. I'm just not appreciating it. It's good but nothing special worth all the extra bucks. My thought is that in order to appreciate a good chocolate it shouldn't be filled with anything. It needs to be a plain piece of chocolate.

I loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove Godiva Chocolate!

It's not for everyone though. It's more European in flavor, and many Americans don't care for that (I do though!). I don't buy it often due to price, but I do treat myself upon occasion. They also make AWESOME coffee, if you like gormet coffees you should give them a try.

Their chocolates are not very high on my list either. But maybe that is because I am a "food snob" as some people say. I like the real stuff that is hand-made and yummy!

Don't get me wrong, their chocolate is good but when I want a splurge I want something to knock my socks off. :flower:

godiva does have plain solid chocolate, too, but my favorite are the mandarin orange truffles. mmmm...yum. so sad because they discontinued them. its just not right! but then again, hey, money and calories saved, right?

I don't like a lot of 'stuff' in my chocolate either. My favorite is the Godiva milk chocolate truffles. DH gets me a box every year for our anniversary and again for Valentine's Day.

YES!! Their milk chocolate truffles and caramels are hard to beat. Anything else I couldn't care less about, but those 2 items... WOWEE! :cheer2: :earboy2:

Please send them to me and I'll make sure those nasty yucky chocolates are far away from you.

I need to go buy me a box of their new stuff..stuff they didn't have when I worked there.

One of my faves (which I hear now comes in bulk instead of just in specialty boxes)was the dark chocolate caramel Lion of Belgium. :goodvibes

I looove the dark chocolate Godiva bars with the Raspberry filling. :cloud9: Delicious! The plain milk chocolate is good too, but you should try Lindt truffels. And Ghiradelli Milk Chocolate filled with Caramel. MMMMmmmmmm.....

I honestly prefer Hershey's.

And normally I prefer more expensive everything.

My boyfriend LOVES the white chocolate starfish things though. I got him a box for Christmas.

I love chocolate too........but I guess I don't appreciate Godivas and will sit and eat most it in 1 or 2 sittings!! So for the price just give me Ghiredellis or anything handmade. It's hard to keep chocolate in my house, I just don't know when to stop!!!! oink oink oink

I like european style chocolates, the darker and less sweet the better. It's not that I didn't like the Godiva, I did. I just didn't think it was outstanding. We have a couple small places that make their own. Very good. I think if there were truffles in the box I would have appreciated them. I guess i'm thinking that a filled chocolate has very little of the actual chocolate so you can't appreciate if it's better or not.BtW I did buy the coffee while I was doing Christmas shopping. The chocolate creme was to die for. I"m going back to buy a bigger bag. I still have the creme brulee to try.

Aurora--a coworker of mine made everybody gift bags for Christmas, which included a couple of Lindt truffles. I ate them and went,"Ok, so this is what everybody is always raving about? These are mediocre at best."

I suppose it's all a matter of taste. I love them. The white chocolate ones are my favorite.
