Go with the Flow....A Summer Trip to Remember! July 2012~ **Completed**

I am definitely checking out the Wishes Dessert party for our next trip. It will be our last night in WDW and it sounds like a great way to end it! As you know, my DH hates the crowds too and I can relate to the fact that it makes it hard for me to enjoy the show. Glad you loved it so much!

That was a great review of the Wishes Dessert Party...I'm thinking about booking that for our trip next July...

I was kind of curious about the seating... it still looks like you had pretty good seats...:goodvibes

There a quite a bit of desserts aren't there? That doesn't seem like something you'd want to do after a sit down dinner... What time do they actually start seating and serving ?

This isn't the end end ... is it...? :sad1:

Thanks! We had so much fun at the Dessert party!:thumbsup2

I didn't think the seats were too bad either. We still had a great view of the castle. Just not front row seating...but that was okay with us since we got up to go to the railing when Wishes started anyway.

The party starts about hour before Wishes start so in our case it began at 9:00pm. But, they suggest you get there early...I had read an hour before but I don't think that is necessary since your seats are reserved. We got there about a half hour before.

Not the end....a few more updates left.:goodvibes

Thanks so much for your review of the Wishes Dessert Party. For many many years, we watched the parade and fireworks from that very spot and often said that we wondered why Disney didn't charge people to watch from there. Guess somebody got smart didn't they?

John's a sweet eater and a coffee drinker so I know that he'd get his money's worth out of the party. I think I may try and see if I can wiggle our ADRs around and work the party into our trip next year.

It really is a great spot to watch the fireworks! Good call!:goodvibes

I think you'd really like the dessert party....great desserts and relaxing way to experience the fireworks! I really can't say enough good things about it!:thumbsup2

This is the way it is with us too. I stress too much trying to keep him happy.

As much as I love Wishes...it has always been very stressful because I'm so busy dealing with his reaction to the crowds. This was perfect!:thumbsup2

When we went, all the tables in the front row were 2-seaters. We were a party of 2, so we did get one of those seats. But I don't think all those parties of 2 booked first, just the way they set them up. And even in the front, we had to stand up to the railing to see the show, so it really doesn't matter where you sit. Just so nice to have an assigned seat!

Hmmm....good to know. Everything I had read before our trip made it sound like the seating was based on when you booked. But, you're right...everyone usually gets up anyway so it didn't really make as much of a difference as I thought it would.

But it wasn't bad, was it? I mean, people definitely got up to watch, but there was plenty of room at the railing...right? Still way way way better than Main Street! :thumbsup2

Definitely better than Main Street! I thought I might be a little disappointed because you lose the effect of seeing the fireworks go off directly over the castle. But, I actually liked them better this way.:thumbsup2

Us too....this was a must for us because I had heard horror stories of trying to get out the Main Street side. It worked perfectly heading out to TomorrowLand. Yay! You have me so excited to do this again next year :cheer2:

Yay for doing it again next year! I have a feeling when we go back that we will end up doing it again as well. The boys still haven't stopped talking about it! :)

I could have written these exact words! The crowds are the sole reason Keith doesn't like Magic Kingdom!!

I am pretty sold on the dessert party. I am all for paying for convenience and good sweets!!!

I'm so glad we decided to try the dessert party! It was definitely worth the price! There were so many yummy desserts and being able to relax and not have to fight the crowds was wonderful!!:thumbsup2

You should! It was such a great way to end our last night at Disney!:thumbsup2 I'm sure you would love it as well!:goodvibes

I thought I would pop on really quick this morning to let you know that I'm hoping to get another update posted really soon. Unfortunately, our wonderful kitty who we've had since the boys were really small (Nick was 2 and Noah was 9 months) passed away this weekend. It was very unexpected and the boys are taking it pretty hard. On top of this Noah broke his collarbone a few days before that so it's been a very stressful week. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know I haven't deserted this TR....so please continue to stick around.:goodvibes I promise I'll be back very soon.

So very sorry about your kitty! We have cats and had to go through this a few times with our boys- It's very hard. Sending prayers to your family! And I hope Noah mends soon!! :)

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your kitty. It's hard losing a pet especially one that has been in the family so very long. Tell Noah that I hope his collarbone heals very quickly.

So sorry about Noah... hope he heals quickly...pixiedust:

Sorry about your kitty... We have cats too... a brother and sister and we've also had dogs in the past... they really do become part of your family...:worried: It's really hard when they pass... you really do mourn them...

I'm sorry to hear about your cat as well, it's hard to explain to someone how much you can miss having one around when you've had one for so long.

Oh Angie, I am so sorry about your kitty, that is so hard on everyone. Poor Noah and Mom and Dad, that's incredibly stressful. No worries on the update, we will be here!

So sorry for the loss of your kitty! It is always so hard to lose a pet!
Whenever you post, I will be here!!

Thank you all so much!:goodvibes:hug: Milo was such a big part of our family...we never realized how much until he was gone.:sad1: He's definitely missed everyday.

On a brighter note...Noah is doing much better. The collarbone is healing nicely and he no longer has to wear his sling. He has to get x-rays in a couple weeks to recheck everything but so far so good.:thumbsup2

I'm really hoping to get this TR wrapped up soon. I only have a few more updates to go so it shouldn't be a problem. I'm working on the next update right now and it should be posted soon.:)

Thanks for sticking with me!:goodvibes

When I left off, we had an amazing experience at the Wishes Dessert Party. We enjoyed...The Magic Memories and You show--

Watched Tink fly over head and watched Wishes--

It had been an amazing and memorable evening so far. But, we weren't finished yet...we had our very first evening EMH to attend. I was so excited! DH on the other hand wasn't quite sure about it...you see, he's an early to bed, early to rise type of guy. But, I had wanted to experience the park late at night for so long that he finally gave in and I think by the look of the smile on his face that night that he was a little bit excited too!

We exited the Dessert Party in Tomorrowland and since we didn't really have a specific goal in mind that night, we started walking and just taking everything in. As we approached the People Mover, both boys seemed eager to ride again so off we went. We couldn't have picked a more perfect time because as we were riding, The Magic, Memories and You show was just beginning again and we could see bits of it and hear the music in distance. It was truly amazing to see the park all lit up. I had tucked my camera safely away so I didn't get any pictures but you'll have to take my word for it....it was wonderful!

After the People Mover, we checked out the wait time for Space Mountain. It was still long as we expected it would be, so we decided to continue on...

We stopped to get a picture of the boys--

I'm sure you can guess what destination we had in mind. A few pictures on our way over--

Yes...it was BTMRR!!There's nothing better than riding at night. There was a 20 minute wait time but we decided to get in line anyway. I had a sneaking suspicion that it really wasn't that long.....and I was right.:cool1:

We barely waited in line--

And we were up! We had such a great ride as usual! So good in fact, that we decided to turn around and do it again!::yes::

After conquering BTMRR twice in a row, we decided to head over to Splash. DH decided to opt out. He wasn't in the mood to get wet. Surprisingly, Nick agreed and they went off to check out the nearby gift shop. So, that left Noah and myself. Looking back, you would think that it would have been me that opted out since I was the water magnet after all.:rotfl: But, nope...it was another thing I had yet to experience...riding Splash Mountain at night and seeing the castle in the distance. The best part was that it was nearing midnight. We hopped into a non-existent line and before we knew it we were climbing in our log. We were placed behind four teenagers who had those light-up hats on that kept flashing all through the ride. I have to admit it was a little distracting but Noah got a kick out of it. We approached the big hill. Now, I usually close my eyes at this point...I am a little afraid of heights and this part makes me nervous.:scared1: But, I forced myself to keep them open so I could get one quick glimpse of the castle and then.....

AWWWW.....we came splashing down. You would never believe it but I was almost completely dry. How could this happen? Well...almost dry until the teenager in front of us felt that his friends didn't quite get wet enough and reached down and splashed some water on the boat. So much for a dry ride....

After Splash, we decided to head back over to Tomorrowland and I had to get a picture of the castle on the way by--

We decided to check out Space Mountain again but when we approached the wait time was still long even at 12:30am. I was willing to wait but DH was more than ready to leave. He'd had a good time but was ready to head back to Pop. The sugar rush had apparently wore off the boys as well because they were dragging a little. We decided to head back toward the castle and say goodbye.

I really wasn't ready and just like earlier in the day, started videotaping trying to hold on to every last moment we had in the Magic Kingdom--
(I clipped some pictures to show you so you could walk along with us)

We slowly made our way out--

I couldn't leave without getting a picture of the boys with Roy and Minnie-

I almost missed Noah...he was ready to go.

But...not me.

As much as I love the Magic Kingdom...it's always hardest to leave this park. I was so happy though that we had made our last night in Disney so special. It was definitely a night to remember!!

Up Next--Wait! We're not finished yet...Epcot here we come one last time!

I too like to take in every last second that I can when we leave the Magic Kingdom for the last time. It's so hard to leave a place that's so magical.

Those last pictures with Roy/Minnie and the boys were really great. I love how the castle was on a darker color and it looks like it is just glowing in the background. Ahhhh....Magic Kingdom.....

I love the Magic Kingdom late at night! We did our first late night EMH on our last trip and it was a highlight! :thumbsup2

It's so hard to leave!! But, especially this trip since we didn't know when we could come back again. Hopefully...2014:confused3 I wanted to soak up every bit of magic that I could that night.:thumbsup2

Thanks! I love those pics too!:goodvibes There really is nothing like the Magic Kingdom is there?:cloud9:

Me too! EMH that night was definitely one of the highlights of our trip as well.:thumbsup2 I'm hoping that when we make it back I can talk the guys into doing it again. I loved it!:thumbsup2

Sounds like a great night at the MK for EMH! I don't think I've ever done evening EMH...:rolleyes1 It's sort of hard to do both morning and evening EMH and you know how much we love those early mornings!

How stupid of that teenager to splash water on his friends (and you). :confused3

And I totally agree, it is always the hardest for me to leave the MK too! I have gotten teary-eyed on a couple of occasions. :sad1:
