COUPON ALERT:

Today, I went to the store to pick up a few things and came across some pull off coupons for Stove Top.. Buy 4 get one free. At this time of year, Stove Top is very inexpensive so this is a great coupon. Pulled off some extra to send to my coupon buddy, too!

Also, on the Perdue Short Cuts package, there is a $1 off coupon for any Perdue Short Cuts. The coupon was on their new flavor (garlic/white wine).

There was also a pull off coupon pad for the new Quaker oatmeal. Pulled off a bunch! LOL!

:santa: I have sent out PM's to everyone who signed up to be a part of our Secret Santa. :santa:

OT- Mini-trip report from a budgeter

Well... I'm back... BOO :sad1: We spent a commando long weekend with MICKEY. It was amazing. We spent 3 1/2 beautiful days in the lovely sunny Florida with highs in the upper 70s and lows in the upper 60s. There was a wonderful soft breeze the entire time, and we kept stopping to say OMG this is a beautiful day. We went specifically to see WDW at Christmas. I have to say I think we crammed a lot into that short amount of time.

Our flight down was delayed on Thursday night so we did not arrive until 11:30pm. We had planned to go to DTD but we were too late. We checked into Pop Century for our 1 night stay. Our bags arrived about 12:30 am. We were already dozing off. We slept well and were up by 7 am to get going. We transferred to Bay Lake. The lady at check in was wonderful our room was ready but she wanted to see if something else was ready with a better view. We were still technically a standard view but with a look to the left we could see MK and a look to the right we could see the lake. We went to EPCOT to see what was going on there. The only thing that was up for Christmas was the big tree, some topiaries, and some other decorations here and there. The story tellers are not out yet. :guilty: I was really hoping to see them. We had an amazing lunch at Le Celliar with a great server- Melissa G. We left after lunch to go to the Boardwalk, Beach Club, and the Yacht Club to see the decorations. The only thing up was the Beach Club carousel. It was beautiful but we were upset that we spent precious time going to the others and there was nothing there. We went back through EPCOT to get the monorail back to the hotel. When we got there we called down to see if our luggage had made it because they said it would be there before 2pm. When we called the first time they said it would be up right away. A few minutes later they called back and ask DH for some more details about our luggage. I was trying to take a quick nap before the Christmas Party. A few more minutes later they called again and it was the luggage service manager. DH had hopped in the shower so I answered it and he said that he greatly apologies but our bags were not there. He said that he knew exactly who was suppose to be in charge of the transfer, he had talked to him, and the bags were on there way from Pop Century as we spoke. He repeatedly apologies and said that they would be there in 20 minutes. I told him that we were leaving for the party at 5 and they should just put them in the room if we were not there. They showed up within the next 10 min and I tried to tip the young man who brought them up (it wasn't his fault). He said, "Oh no thank you. We are just terribly sorry you were inconvenienced." Uh ok- I tried. We were quickly off to the MVMCP it was good. We liked the parade a lot. Fireworks were good but I still love the regular Wishes. I think we would have had a better time if DH was not so tired. I was also a little disappointed that we waited for 30min in line to see Belle and the Beast in their Christmas attire. We were a few families away from the front I asked the CM if she would be in there when we got to the front because I knew they did 30min rotations. He said no that she came in on the hour and would be leaving in the next 5 mins. The lady behind us was more upset than we were she had 3 little girls (5yo and under) that had gone to BBB and done the deluxe package with the red and gold Belle dresses. We hopped out and went to see the fireworks and the parade. We were both wearing thin by 11 pm so we went to Cosmic Rays for a burger and watched the dance party for awhile and then we left. Overall, I was surprised at the number of people there for the party. There were a lot more than we have seen at MNSSHP. Saturday was the rat race. We went to Chef Mickey’s for breakfast (it was a good experience- the food choices are not a varied as at other buffets- but it was good) we went to Poly and Grand Floridian to see the Christmas decorations. (Poly was not up) We went back to Tickets and Transportation thinking we could get to DTD from there. Nope! and the resort monorail went down so we couldn't get to the resort either. We took the ferry to the MK and the walked to the Contemporary. We hopped a bus to DTD. We visited our favorites- Christmas store, pin store, world of Disney, and I went to the Lego store to see if I could get just the little people for my classroom. :scared1: OH MY GOODNESS! Those things are expensive. $10 for 3 that you build or 30 community helper Lego people for $49.99 are you kidding me. I think I'll skip it and they can make due with what we have. We hopped back on the bus spent about 30-45 min resting and snacking at the hotel and we were off to AK to see the parade and visit the fab 5 at Camp Minnie Mickey. It was so strange to be in and out like that we usually go on the safari and ride the rides and definitely walk the trails. We left and went to DHS along with about 4,000 of our closest friends trying to get onto the same bus. I was not horrible but was not a pleasant experience either. We got there had a yummy sandwich near the Streets of America and watched the Osborne Lights for about 45 minutes. We were both beat so we slowly walked back to the gate. When we got to Hollywood Blvd. We walked through the stores and back to the buses. We both fell asleep quickly after a shower. Sunday was our last day and we had very little planned. We check our luggage with bell service. :littleangel: My the luggage angles be with you little bags. We hopped the monorail thinking we would go to the MK for breakfast a few rides. On the way we decided to stop at Poly and see if there was any walk up seating at Kona. YEAH! We were there as they opened and were seated in about 10 min. We had never been just read good things about it. Breakfast was great. I had the Tonga Toast yumm-o. DH had the Big Kahunna platter. He liked it. We would definitely go again and would like to try it as a dinner stop. Then we were on to the MK. We rode a lot of rides with little to no wait. There were more and more people showing up. We rode the Peoplemover twice because we were just soaking up the last little bit of Disney before we left. DH had woken up with a sore lower back and was not feeling like walking around much more but we still had about an hour before we needed to leave. We watch CoP and used our fastpass for Buzz. Then we slowly walked to the gate. Good bye Main Street. Good bye Pluto and Daisy. Good bye train station. Good bye popcorn cart. "Honey do we really have to go?" "But.. but.. but..!" "I'm NOT GOING HOME!!!!" He took my hand and said we have to go now. You have students who will be expecting you in the morning, and I'll loose my job if I'm not back tomorrow. "SO!" :rolleyes1 "OK. FINE. Bye Mickey" :sad1: At least I was consoled by the fact that we are coming back for Spring Break. Our bags were quickly retrieved from storage. :littleangel: We were on the Magical Express back to Orlando Int., on our plane, and home in no time.

Overall:
1. 3 days is too short for all the great things happening at Christmas in WDW
2. MVMCP great but go after a day that you have rested and not your first full day there.
3. Tonga Toast- YUM
4. Osborne Family Lights are SPECTACULAR
5. Le Celliar- Great food and Great service
6. Disney Dining more than paid for itself again. It works really well for us and we save a TON using it. Usually one sit down during the day pays for the entire plan for that day.
7. Don't go before Thanksgiving if you can schedule for after. We were there the week before and there were still so many things not up. If we could have gone after Thanksgiving we would have, because everything is up after Thanksgiving. If you cannot schedule it for after and want a taste of what will be available, go but know that it will not all be ready. Call the individual resorts before you go to save time. They will tell you if their decorations are up. It is still beautiful- don't get me wrong, but it is not complete.

One of my best friends left Monday and said that they were much more crowded that when we were there even though we started to see big crowds on the weekend, it seems to be packed now. Maybe the trade off of smaller crowds was worth the few decorations.

IF anyone has questions about going for Christmas or going on a limited budget, I'll be more than happy to try to answer them.
