Hi Wonderful Train Riders!

Anyone interested in participating in a Secret Santa?

The amount spent should be about $10. It could be anything related to Christmas or New Year's or anything winter themed such as snowmen, etc. That way our train riders who don't celebrate Christmas could participate by indicating that to me and requesting something with a winter theme. You can make it one large gift or several smaller gifts. Since we want to keep it a surprise, don't post anything about it on here if you're interested. Just send me a PM and then I'll be sending you a PM with the name and address of the person you will be sending your Secret Santa gift to. Deadline to sign up with me is the Monday after Thanksgiving on Nov. 22. Names will go out in PM's on Tuesday, Nov. 23. That way you can shop on Black Friday if you wish. Mailing date is on or before Dec. 1.

Oh yes! We absolutely do!!! My extended family adopts a family through Catholic Charities each year. I'm actually the designated shopper because I can make our money stretch so far! And, we also pick tags off the Giving Tree at Church. Hubby is in sales and he takes a tag from the tree at every one of his clients offices!

I'm not a total Grinch! I just have a hard time getting into the spirit until we get our tree and decorate and have parties. We get a real tree each year so we only leave it up for about 3 or 4 weeks.

Thanks for the ideas. I'll start getting there after Thanksgiving. It happens every year! I'm just a little behind schedule in shopping this year but I know it will all get done no matter what!

So happy to hear that you aren't a Grinch! You had me a little worried...We also get a real tree every year (LOVE the fresh smell, don't you? Hate the pine needles afterwards!), and every year I promise myself that I will take the tree down before it sheds all its pine needles, but, I normally don't start to dismantle it until the branches are pointing a bit south (usually 4-5 weeks!). Happy shopping!

Just noticed that you attended a college program and did seasonal work at the world...how much FUN was that? What were your assignments? I always said that when I retire, I want to work part time at Disney World (not to mention LIVE in Minnie's house!) I just figured how bad can the job be in such a HAPPY place?

Yup I loved it and had contemplated staying down there once I was done with the College Program but it would have cost me a lot more to finish college in FL than in MA. I worked at MGM (well the Studios now) and I worked driving the tram in the parking lot as well as the toll booth and directing traffic. We always had a lot of fun even though sometimes we feared for our lives (crazy drivers and irrational tourists). I told DH that I want to retire to Florida as well and work at Disney so our grandkids could come and visit us and go to Disney. I highly recommend working there.
