Just a happy note. Today I did our big grocery visit for the month, I had $67 dollars worth of savings with my Kroger card and coupons, about 30% off of the total order. (Side note- lots of great produce this week!)


30% is my dream! congrats!!! (I hover in the 20s...)

The check out boy who was probably 16/17 yrs old said, "Hey you need to call my mom and tell her how to do this coupon thing. She said she is going to start taking money out of my check because I eat too much." The bagger was a "veteran" employee. She said, "I don't blame her I raise 3 boys and nearly had to take out a 2nd mortgage just to feed them during their teenage years. It's food of college, which do you want?"

I was toying w/ the idea of getting cash back at the store equal to the amount I saved in coupons and putting it aside...does anyone else do that? Right now I just like having a lower line item for groceries in the budget, but maybe this would be a good way to beef up savings? trip $? thoughts?

I think that's a totally fabulous idea. I've read about when others have saved that way and heard it accumulates fast. For an avid couponer, you could probably take a trip in no time and even have more than one bathroom!!

I've thought of doing this also, but when I total up what I save in a week, it's a lot!

Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers. My aunt was single with no children so one of my other aunts and a cousin are trying to get everything in order....the sad (but funny) part is I don't think she threw anything away...she has lots and lots of....stuff. I think my parents and I are going back up to her house this weekend to help pack up some things.

I wanted to let njsam know that I did make it to the post office on Tuesday to send out her coupons, hopefully you get them soon.

hauntedmansionmomma - I do that. I have Tinkerbell bank on my dresser where all my "coupon money" goes. I explained to my DD7 what it was and she will now only choose cereal for which I have a coupon!

Njsam, never got to the p.o. today so it will go out tomorrow. Had three unbelievably sad phone calls before 10 A.M. The death of a friend (expected but still so sad...inoperable brain tumor), my brother-in-law fell off a ladder last night and broke his hip and shattered his shoulder (but had successful surgery this afternoon and is resting comfortably tonight), and coworker's 45 year-old husband was placed into hospice. It was a horribly rough morning and I cringed every time the phone rang the rest of the day.

well I don't think I'm any better...my Uncle gave me a cactus....and it eventually died I certainly have no green thumb but I'm going to try to grow the seed you sent...my son loves to water what flowers I do have so I'll have him water those to! Thanks again!

haha funny thing... I just got back last night from my trip and my flowers are all of a sudden blooming. I couldn't believe it! They came back from the dead lol and the ones that weren't dead yet are now HUGE... crazy.. if they die again im gonna need to leave town again lol

I got an envie last week (while i was gone) but a lot of them are expiring on the 31 and since my mail takes forever to get out I am going to wait until next week to mail you any. The pile I have left from my last mailing is very small (it was a small envie my husband says... he handled it this week lol) so I will combine last week, this week, and my extras and mail them out on Monday.
