Go to Greece or graduate?

Well, the 21 hours is divided up -- 3 hours of intersession in may, 9 hours of actual summer classes (one in June, one in July, and one that stretches over both months), 3 hours of intersession in August, and two correspondence classes that I've already started on and technically have a year to finish.

Not that it matters...between y'all and talking to my boyfriend's mom (who has been much more encouraging than my own mom) and the head of my program, I'm going to go!

I'm also going to spend another month in Paris afterwards -- I haven't seen the family I lived with while I was there for a year in high school for a couple of years now, and I'd like to go back. Plus, I need to improve my French beyond what I can do taking lit and culture classes here, and I can take a couple of classes that will count for major credit in Paris.

Thanks for helping me out! I really appreciate y'all.

Is your mom paying for college and these trips to Europe, though? If so, what is her opinion?

I lived in Greece for 4 1/2 years, and can honestly say that if we never go to Europe again- I can say that I've been there!!

It was amazing, and travel to other countries was so inexpensive that I was able to see even more.......

This is probably a once in a lifetime opportunity, if everything falls into place for you.

Good luck!!

I must join the majority here and say go to Greece. I got the opportunity to study in Italy for a summer and did so knowing that it would push back my graduation. Before Europe I had been trying to graduate in 3.5 years instead of 4. I loved every minute of being there. take taim to travel whil eyou are there as well. Once you finish school and start a career, family, etc. you never have the opportunity to do it again.

Go to Greece and then come home and finish school. You won't regret it.

No, my mom isn't paying for college or my going to Europe. I've paid for college entirely on my own through a mix of scholarships, savings, and work. The same thing goes for Europe; she won't be paying for it.

My mom just wants me to get out of school; I think she's afraid that if I go for too long or do too many other things (internships, field study, etc.) that I'll lose focus.

Good for you! Have fun in Greece and think of us and our jealousy. Plus a month in Paris! :( ...Can I come too?
