Go Red Sox !!! You know they're gonna win game 7 and go on to win the series!! Woohoo!! Anyone see the game last night?? The Ump's were awesome on their calls!! Yankee fans and players are getting desperate, even their own newspapers are putting them down!

Yay!! Here we go to win the series!! ::yes:: :Pinkbounc

I'm so nervous...I don't want to get too cocky. I keep saying they are going to blow it like they always do, but where is my faith? UGH.

I hate this time of year. Sometimes I think we would all be better off if the Sox didn't even make into the post season. Way less stress anyway! If I am this bad now, what is going to happen when they do make it to the World Series? That is another series of games we have to get through! I bet the Tums and Mylanta is flying off the shelves!

An update from ground zero:

As a New Englander who is is now living in New York, I am seeing something this morning I have never, ever seen in the last fifteen years of being a Red Sox fan in the Big Apple.

The New York fans are truly, truly worried.

On Sunday night, they simply diminished the Sox victory as a "quirk."

On Monday night, they went down the "quirk" path again, but in a more angry, pompous fashion, stating the Yankees would never, ever, ever possibly allow a 7th game. Nope, that would be impossible. Out of the question. The Sox "always" choke. Always.

And last night?

Well, we saw the behavior of the New York fans in the stadium.

And frankly, that isn't as ugly as what I'm seeing this morning. The locals are literally shocked. Furious at their team, they stunned at the fact New Englanders have forced the backs of the "mightiest franchise in American sports" to the wall.

Oh, what it is like to see the mighty fall.

And I am loving every single second of it. :smooth:

Please don't let tonights game be another past midnight nail biter. I am so tired from staying up the last couple of nights. My DH is on the verge of having a heart attack and he is only 25! This has been so stressful. At least the umps made the right calls last night, I don't think the NY fans can argue about that!

Between the Red Sox and Dolphins (my DH's teams from the time he was 5) to the Phillies and Eagles (the Home teams) there has been nothing but heart break in our life for years!

Serious question...do you think there will be rioting in NY if the Sox win tonight? Is that a major concern?

I love how Yankee fans go on and on about how scary the Red Sox fans are. I didn't see the riot squad called out at Fenway, did you?

I think that is a pretty safe bet!

Seriously? It's never been a problem before in New York. Why now?

No, but I am sure they would have been if the same thing had happened there as far as the fans throwing stuff on the field. I said to my DH right before the riot crew came out that I hope there is some security for the officials when they leave the ballpark.

That said, I am keeping my fingers crossed that the Red Sox can pull off the upset of baseball history tonight!! (also hoping the NLCS goes to game seven to give the Sox a bit more rest time)

Not to intrude on your premature gloting....but wasn't it Boston's fans who a couple of years ago overturned cars and had riots and looting in the streets of Boston because the Red Sox won either the pennant or wild card? I don't think in all the years, 26 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS that NY has had that problem. People who live in glass houses.......

And those umps were awful last night. For both sides. How could that 3rd base ump not call that a home run????!!!!! What a joke they made of the game.

Put your seat belts on cause it's going to be a great ride tonight....whoever wins!!!

Maria

Because the Red Sox just shredded the "record" books. History is irrelevant, and ANYTHING is possible tonight - including a riot by New York fans who just can't accept that there is actually competition for a title.

You are very correct about our knuckleheads. It is not City specific when it comes to stupid behavior, I never meant to elude to the fact that we were above that type of stuff, just that I can see it happen in NYC with tensions running the way they are. As for the umps, the "experts" in have heard and seen in the media generally agree that it was officiated very well. Team allegiance can sometimes cloud the facts. (Boston Fans also)

All I know is, win or loose I am heading to the Mouse House in two day's!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have a good day all-

I'm not a baseball fan, BUT this is different, right? I'm glad the Sox have turned the tide, and I hope they take it all the way. If nothing else, this series is a great distraction from politics, which I've had it up to here with  .....

You are aware, of course, that the Yankees haven't won in the past couple years, right? Yankees fans didn't seem to have a problem accepting that.

Is it possible there will be a riot? Sure, I suppose it's possible. Is it likely? No.

The Red Sox fans don't throw things in the field. We're far too superstitious to do anything to mess with the team

Actually it was a bunch of drunk college kids that did that.
And I don't think anyone said that Boston fans don't get out of hand. I know my comment was based on the number of Yankee fans that go on and on about how superior they are to Boston fans. That high road was pretty desolate last night.

seriously...the way the Yankees have been playing...it wouldn't surprise me if they lose. Doesn't mean that the BoSox are going to win the World Series. They've gone up that road before. The bambino still lives. hahahha I don't know where he's been the last couple of days, but he will emerge somewhere.

See you on the boards tomorrow...

Til then....

I will root for the SOX even though Derek Lowe plays for them- HUGE jerk as you Sox fans probably know! I knew him in high school.

That said, I am tired of the Yankees winning all the time! This seventh game finally puts some excitement back into it!

In the smaller markets you are really losing a fan base for Baseball. It is kind of hard to root for the Royals when you know they don't have the money to compete. Take a lesson from Football- REVENUE SHARING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who cares about the Yankees 26 championships if they are the only ones winning? Dosen't it get hollow?

GO SOX!! They want it! The Yankees just seem to want money!

Maybe (we'll see tonight.) If the Yanks lose, however, all he will do is roll over in his grave.

Which frankly he may already have done, given the Yankees have CHOKED by losing an unprecedented three -- count 'em, THREE -- opportunities to close the series.

In other words, the Yankees already have a big, new negative mark in the record books (they are now the ONLY only major league team in history to blow a three game lead in a series and be forced to a single deciding 7th game). Even if they win tonight, they will carry that embarrassing achievement with them. And if they lose.....

...they will own the title of CHOKERS OF THE CENTURY.

Which would cause the Bambino to literally TWIRL!
